I liked Megasonic Teenage Warhead or whatever. She and her gf were cute. Ryan Reynolds just kinda bugs me and I found the humor to be a little juvenille
I enjoyed Deadpool. I haven't seen Logan but the whole thing with having a vulgar, crude, subversive Marvel Hero was quite novel and entertaining to me. I understand the tenor of Logan is quite different anyways.
I didn't like Logan at all. i was so bored I was counting the tiles on the ceiling of the movie theatre. I don't remember anything about it other than being incredibly bored. I generally like the Marvel stuff tho
I dislike most marvel superhero shit, but most xmen movies have been an exception. I don't think i have seen Logan yet. Latest one was probably The Wolverine which sucked. Certainly after the pretty good Xmen Origins: Wolverine.
X-Men are my favorite Marvel Heroes it's kind of a bummer after the first couple, it's been an inconsistent franchise. I wasn't in a rush to see it but I'm kind of disappointed to hear this about Logan.
Don't take my word for it. According to the rest of the world it was the best in the franchise. I liked the 2 that took place in the past and then The Wolverine. Other than that, Xmen never really been my jam. My favorite Marvel stuff has been the shows Jessica Jones and Runaways Captain Marvel was ok. Made me wanna timetravel to the 90s. Avengers movies are too much movie. They're all like 9 hours long
Well, you really like Japan. That might have helped? I thought the story and how it was filmed very different and a lot worse than the former ones. Wondering now how GB experienced The Wolverine! Wasn't the origin: Wolverine a lot better?
Ahhh Ok... I haven't even seen First Class which I believe is one of those in the past ones you are referring to. I haven't been out to many movies in the past few years so I've kind of missed the spectacle of all these Marvel movies. I saw Avengers: Infinity War just last year on netflix and it's the only Avengers movie I've seen, it was enjoyable but I feel like I just got thrown into it and there seemed to be a lot of continuity from prior movies that I wasn't really following.
The Merc with a Mouth with his mouth fused shut? Nah And yeah, I'm biased. i really like Rila Fukushima and all the martial arts and ninja stuff. Actually Wolverine himself was the least interesting part of the movie to me lol
Yeah First Class was really cool. It was an Xmen movie but it was also really this cool 60s cold war spy movie. Kinda like how Captain America Winter Soldier was a political thriller in disguise
Haha, see. And i expected more xmen origin: Wolverine stuff That was good stuff imo Maybe The Wolverine is great in a lot of ways, but not what i wanted It's not a great Wolverine movie imo.
Great dynamic between Magneto, Xavier and that blue woman played by Lawrence And yes, the setting was done well too.
Since we’re talking X-Men movies X-Men (2000) X2 (2003) X-Men Last Stand (2006) X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) X-Men: First Class The Wolverine (2013) X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) Logan (2017) Dark Phoenix (2019) The New Mutants (2020) My order in which they rate: 1) X-Men (2000) 2) ) X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) 3) X-Men Last Stand (2006) 4) X2 (2003) 5) X-Men: First Class 6) X-Men Days of Future Past (2014) 7) Logan (2017) 8) X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) 9) The Wolverine (2013) 10) Dark Phoenix (2019) The New Mutants (2020) (as yet to be determined, but I'm not impressed with the trailer)
Very intriguing setting and nicely worked out. Great and original scifi. Pretty much same for me! I edited the ones out that i haven't seen, or don't recall well (like Apocalypse)
I agree with your initial reaction, it was not what I was expecting. Definitely, the special effects hold up well and the plot is interesting. My only quibble might be that the acting was slightly over-the-top. There was enough action in the movie to keep me entertained but I felt like they made a couple attempts at dramatic moments that didn't really connect. The portrayal of aliens as mostly confused, malnourished and indifferent to humans on a grand scale was a unique take.
