Trump rioter portrays himself as a Democrat and an 'accidental tourist' who was at the Capitol just to go to the bathroom.

A Capitol rioter who said he was 'just there to go to the bathroom' was sentenced to 3 months in jail after video appears to show him pushing a cop

    excerpt:

"Robert Reeder, 55, told FBI investigators he was an "accidental tourist" at the Capitol on a simple excursion to Washington, DC, to see then-President Donald Trump speak. Reeder's attorney, Robert Bonsib, wrote in a filing that his client planned to visit the monuments in the city until he learned about a group of people traveling to the Capitol building after Trump's speech.

Bonsib said his client is a Democrat - though "not politically active" - who accidentally ended up on January 6 grouped with "views he abhors." Reeder's Facebook history prior to January 6 paints a different picture about his views: Reeder wrote about "POS liberals," saying "this time the conservatives will stand their ground and the radicals will die.""

Another alibi of his could have been that he accidentally shoved a cop while trying to go to the bathroom.

    excerpt:

"Reeder pleaded guilty in June to picketing inside the Capitol and was originally scheduled for sentencing in August.

However, the date was postponed after investigators discovered videos they say show him shoving a police officer right outside the building. Prosecutors originally requested a two-month sentence for Reeder but upped their request to a six-month sentence after the evidence was brought to light."

No wonder I saw similarities between Trump and Mohammad Bin Salman of Saudi Arabia.

The entire country is composed of compulsive liars, making educating them difficult, but automation is about to catch up with a vengeance. Due to all the lies, the trick is to confront them with the self-evident truth, throwing their own bullshit right back in their faces, just as hard as you can! Starting with their fucking teachers, who prefer to call half the damned country insane.

Trump engaged in extraordinary measures to squash Antifa, but he watched his insurrection on TV while the governors of VA and MD scrambled to send national guard to protect members of Congress.

Internal review shows Trump’s DHS concocted bogus intelligence blaming antifa for violence

    excerpt:

"We knew at the time that Donald Trump sent an army of contracted goons from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in to the city of Portland, Oregon, in the summer of 2020 to arrest citizens protesting against police brutality—summarily sweeping people off the street on the pretext of a kind of preventative arrest based on groundless speculation that they were "antifa" conspiring to "burn down our cities," as Trump put it—that it was an outrage against the Constitution and the rule of law.

What we didn't know (and an internal DHS review that only surfaced this week reveals) was that it was also an extraordinary exercise in authoritarian incompetence. It demonstrates that senior DHS leadership pushed unfounded conspiracy theories about antifascists, encouraged the contractors they hired to violate protesters' constitutional rights, and made spurious connections, based on no real evidence, between protesters who engaged in criminal activity. It also revealed poor training and inadequate guidance, which contributed to the federal intelligence officers' lack of knowledge on legal restrictions for the collection of such information, and turned the entire operation into a massive mess."

Iowa GOP political consultants hired by Donald Trump's leadership PAC

    excerpt:

"Save America has hired Iowa Republican operatives Eric Branstad and Alex Latcham as senior advisors, Communications Director Taylor Budowich confirmed to the Des Moines Register.

Branstad helped lead Trump’s 2016 and 2020 Iowa campaigns. Latcham was a special assistant to the president and deputy political director in Trump’s White House.

Though they both have deep Iowa connections, the pair will “broadly be advising the organization and the president on political matters and in campaigns across the country,” Budowich said."

Judge sentences Capitol rioter Robert Reeder to 3 months in jail | wusa9.com

    excerpt:

"Reeder himself told the judge he has been unemployed for 10 months, and that his relationships with his son and family have been severely damaged.

“I’m radioactive,” he said. “No one wants to hire me. They just have to Google my name.”

Because the Department of Justice declined to pursue additional assault charges against Reeder, the maximum sentence he faced was six months in prison. Hogan decided Friday to halve that and ordered him to serve three months behind bars. While announcing his sentence, the judge said it’s become clear to him that many Capitol riot defendants taking misdemeanor pleas like Reeder are “not truly accepting responsibility.”

“I hope it does send a signal to the other participants in that riot… that they can expect to receive jail time,” Hogan said.

In addition to three months in jail, Reeder will have to pay $500 in restitution for damage done to the U.S. Capitol. Hogan allowed Reeder to self-report to authorities to begin serving his sentence, but warned him failing to do so could potentially earn him a felony escape charge with a maximum sentence of up to 5 years."

Texas Man Who Joined US Capitol Riot Sentenced to 45 Days Behind Bars

    excerpt:

"A Texas man who joined the mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan 6. was sentenced Monday to 45 days behind bars, even though prosecutors weren't seeking jail time, after the judge blasted comparisons between the riot that day and the Black Lives Matter protests over racial injustice.

U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan called it a false equivalence "to compare the actions of people protesting, mostly peacefully, for civil rights" to the mob that "was trying to overthrow the government." She said doing so "ignores the very real danger that the Jan. 6 riots pose to the foundation of our democracy."

The judge's remarks in the case against Matthew Mazzocco of San Antonio came days after another judge in Washington's federal court suggested that the Justice Department was being too hard on the Jan. 6 defendants when compared to the people arrested during the protests after George Floyd's murder."

Trump lashes out at Biden for not complying with his request for executive privilege.

‘Drunk on power’: Trump lashes out after Biden rejects former president’s appeal to withhold Capitol riot records

    excerpt:

"After the White House declined Donald Trump’s request to withhold documents from a congressional committee investigating the Capitol riot, the former president accused Democrats of being “drunk on power” and suggested he would channel legal action to prevent their release.

“The Democrats are drunk on power, but this dangerous assault on our Constitution and important legal precedent will not work,” he said in a statement on 8 October.

He accused the House Select Committee of leading a “fake investigation” to use “the power of the government to silence ‘Trump’ and our Make America Great Again movement, the greatest such achievement of all time.”"
