I'd say it's OK to list musicians from your old stomping grounds in this thread if you'd like. TBH I think one of the bands I listed in the OP is actually located 1hr north of me
I consider anything from my state local. Like Shovels and Rope, they're from Charleston which is 3 hours away...local enough
[ Assuming I were going the speed limit, the Bay is 8 hours away. I dunno it's hard to explain, it's one aspect of interstate culture where I feel there are significant differences. As @soulcompromise alluded to even among Southern California, there are some distinct differences. I'm only 2 hours away from Los Angeles and even more hesitant to post music from there. During college, here is a song I featured on background vocals. I was in a band with the bassist from this band for a brief stint.
