True. I have always held the opinion that if I am paying taxes, I should dictate where that money goes. For example I don't want my money going to the defense department. There are enough suckers to cover that cost.

 

I hate parades in general

You should be able to put exclusions on your tax. Maybe not for everything, like money for schools or whatever. But war and parades, yes.

There's precedent and we've learned nothing. People don't ever learn from their mistakes.

 

The last time I went to a parade, it was to see a show car that I helped work on for that parade.

It was crowded, dirty, full of trashy people, hot and arid, and the floats were nothing more than semi trucks decorated with car dealership advertisments, blasting their air horns as they went by. It was awful.

Seeing military hardware might make a parade a little more interesting, but still a waste of time. The steel treads of a tank can really damage asphalt.

 

A large part of the people supporting him are not exactly the most well-read/informed.
