First off, this a factual question, not a moral debate. But does anyone here or known to someone here support President Trump being president forever? I truly am curious. And this is my only question. First a little background. Comedian and political commentator Bill Maher (who hosts Real Time on HBO) has contended this all along. And Mr. Trump does seem to support it, though the mainstream media is not talking about it. The Roman Senate elected Julius Caesar dictator for life. And President Trump has expressed admiration for world autocrats. So we all know what he's going to do. So I am not asking that, nor asking how you feel about it. I am just curious who if anyone supports it.
I believe all the true die hard Trump supporters know better than to flog their conspiracy theories and racist bullshit here. I believe that the HipForums site members are (mostly) smarter than that. But as to your question, I would in no way support ANYONE becoming president for life or a dictator.
No I don't support Trump for Dictator, for life or for just ten minutes. I think he suffers from some form of criminal psychopathy. He made it clear that he supports Mohammad Bin Salman who had a journalist butchered alive, then used legal trickery to let the actual killers go free. I would not want anything to happen to our journalists here in America. At this point in time Trump has made it clear he is pissed off at Bob Woodward and some people who published books about him, among them Michael Wolf, John Bolton, Michael Beschloss, and even his own niece Mary Trump. Mary Trump has filed a court claim against Donald Trump because he fudged the books to short change her inheritance. Just ask your selves: What sort of man steals from his own niece? Consequently, my answer is a solid no. I don't want him for my dictator. I would prefer someone like George Carlin, or Richard Pryor, with a hint of socialism.
I knew from day in 2016 many of his supporters felt this way and it's gotten much worse. They will not frame it like I did though. They will say he should be "elected indefinitely" because the Democrats are just too corrupt and most of the GOP are career politicians who despite kissing Trump's ass must have a motive to keep the swamp full. In a time of war the public is willing to give up rights and postpone democracy. It's why the Patriot act worked after 9/11 but not in the year 2000. If Obama had been in the middle of a war with China or something like that I think many Americans would have been OK with staying past 2016 because they trust him. That trust is given to Trump. The difference is unlike Obama there will NEVER be a point when the voter is comfortable with anyone but him. The war will never end. Should Trump win mark my words the story in 2024 would be "look at how close they got with Hillary and Biden we can not trust in a fair election"
Sometimes this feels like a bad dream......a President who treats people with contempt, is malicious to the people he is supposed to lead, disregards science in the face of a pandemic, supported by a political party sworn to blind obedience, and incredibly supported by a rabid minority of lawless people. These people are in our family, neighborhood and communities. I’m 75 years old and my soul prays we will wake up find out it’s just been a bad nightmare.
Remember how this creature began running for reelection immediately after taking office? Well, you watch, if he does win again by whatever means, he'll immediately begin the process to repeal the 22nd amendment. And the GOP will support him in that effort. I blame the GOP more than I blame Trump. Trump can't help what he is. He was raised this way. But the GOP knows better and is willing to go along with what they know are terrible things simply to stay in power. And the church groups are even worse, supporting what they know is evil to get their way. I've never voted a straight party line before in my life but I'm voting straight blue this time just to spank the GOP. I even have a friend running for a local office and I've told her that I'm voting against her just because she's running as a Republican.
Seven percent of all American adults believe that chocolate milk comes from brown cows, according to a nationally representative online survey commissioned by the Innovation Center of U.S. Dairy. If you do the math, that works out to 16.4 million misinformed, milk-drinking people there is your answer
With Saturn battling its way through Capricorn right now the stars and planets are aligned quite well for a revolution. Careful what you wish for. While Capricorn has been slogging its way backwards in apparent retrograde motion recently, the intense argumentative vibrations were amplified... you can see the dramatic results in the insanity gripping American politics... Capricorn stations direct today, but no there will be no lessening of its effects, just yet. It forms other stress aspects with the other planets and will continue until mid-December when Saturn finally leaves Capricorn and moves into Aquarius, a much better place for Saturn, things will calm after the storm... eventually. Slowly... Astrologers refuse to make predictions as to the outcome of the election in November. The winner will not be decided then... just wait. It's going to get weirder.
Well, I'm seeing a few things here. First, you can take depreciation on real estate or heavy equipment which is used in business, based on the theory that this building or machine has a limited life. So, if a trucker spends $100,000 on a diesel truck which has a life of X years, he can deduct the amount. If the truck is sold or repossessed, the amount would be recaptured by the IRS. If you tell the IRS the building or property is for business use and you want to depreciate its value, then that building better be used for business, not for your family fun. The New York Times report indicates Trump's property in northern New York is and has been used as a family compound according to his son's public statement. President Nixon had some tax issues and was forced to pay back the IRS over $400 grand. Trump's main issue is $72 million in a depreciation deduction. If he has claimed depreciation allowance on a business he has unloaded, then he is looking at recapture of some of that money. WE are talking about a hefty financial problem. The only way for the Orange guy to get out of this is to suck up to Mohammad Bin Salman, or that Rouhani. He could ask, "Dear famous Muslim leader, could you please pay off my tax defaults with the IRS so they don't put me in the pokie motel?"
Piney, too many of us only drink the flavor of Kool-aid we prefer. I learned in the military to always know what your enemy is up to. Most mornings I check NPR, ABC, BBC and then go to FOXnews, Breitbart and even Pravda. If I see something that none of these explains within reason, I just google it a few times. But, to answer your question, there are a few, very few, here who probably support the despicable piece of shit currently in our White House.
He gets everything he wants. Constant praise and rules don't apply to him. For a narcissist this is a dream because they don't believe in rules for themselves only rules for others that make serving them easier. They are happy if one or two people give them attention but he can go on Twitter everyday and see literally thousands of people arguing on his behalf. He likes dictators for a reason and several times he has suggested that it should essentially be illegal to not praise him. If he leaves office the supply is gone and he may face prison. Sure he could still go on Fox and get a little praise but he is hooked on the strong stuff and it would upset him to know that his rivals won. He no longer has power and they mock him.
