You can't forget to mention Jorma Kaukonen when mentioning Hot Tuna...can we? I'll definately say the Grateful Dead are my number one hippie band. It was through their music over 25 years ago that started me on the path my life has taken. Lots of great music out there, but what other band was more culterally influential when it comes to the "hippie" lifestyle. After the Dead would be Hot Tuna, Phish, Jimmy Hendrix, String Cheese, The Doors, Bob Marley etc. etc. So much good music.
RETARDS???? Lighten up, would ya' Bear in mind that most of these people replying to this thread were born in the 80's and 90's. Maybe they haven't listened to The Band or Eric Burden and the Animals. They more than likely haven't heard "Eight Miles High" by The Byrds. (that's sad) Incidently, if you were referring to me.. I was just clarifying...Hot Tuna..not in heaven...yet. Have a good day brother.
I love so much classic rock. My two favs...Grateful Dead, of course...Jimi Hendrix too, just like the thread starter.. After that, Santana, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Donovan, the Doors, the Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Janis Joplin, Cream w/ Eric Clapton, Canned Heat...I could go on for awhile.. Oooh, post above me... the Band...Life is a Carnival... Way too much good music to straight up pick only two!
no, hot tuna was made by the guys from jefferson airplane(starship) towards the end of their time, by jorma and jack cassidy.
