I got my first car when I was 15. It was a 1977 VW Beetle. It was soooo pretty but it ran like shit. I guess that's what you get for buying a car that's almost 20 years old. I had a lot of fun in that car that summer before I sold it to get a more reliable vehicle.

My favorite was my 2004 Jeep Wrangler. It was the first brand new vehicle I ever bought. Terrible gas mileage. I'm a jeep girl. I drive a compass now. I can't imagine owning anything but jeeps from here on out.

Mazda mx6, I can't remember the year but maybe a 96? Or 94, something like that. I bought it when I was 15 because my mom was trying to teach me to drive on her manual and I almost killed us one day. So she helped me buy an automatic to learn on. I didn't get my license for another year so my best friend drove us around in it the first year I had it. I really loved that car. I smoked a lot of weed in it.

I drove it for several years and it sputtered into the dealership where I bought my next car, literally died in the lot.

A few of you mentioned the tercel earlier, a friend of mine from high school bought a tercel when she was 17, she still drives it 12 years later. She delivered pizza for 10 years in it. Tercels look wimpy but those cars are a beast.

I'm sorry for all the pot shots I took at car drivers earlier in this thread.I like taking car rides and think they are very useful.it's just that as a non-driver pedestrian they can also be very annoying when you're trying to traverse an urban environment. When you're a pedestrian car drivers can be very arrogant and inconsiderate.

I remember I had my mom snap a pic of me hugging my volvo when I just got it, wish I still had the pic but it went into the abyss when I lost all the photos on my old comp..

Lucky sonovagun! You know considering your line of work that they're one of the best cars ever made. Next to a Crown Vic.

Its not really amazing. The year is right there on the title when you buy it. Its on the registration when you register it. Its on the insurance card when you get it on the road. Its kind of hard to not know the year...it is possible to forget but thats because i had so many cars from close together years.

First car was an 83 hatchback charger lasted 2 weeks(also bird...that would be a HUGE difference from a 2012 charger so i think its worth mentioning)
favorite car is easily my current car a 2012 cruze the only new car i ever had.

i could change those engines in 3 hours flat with no hoist before my back went out

in my college days once i drove the car into shop..pulled the engine...changed the clutch (easier to pull engine and leave the tranny alone)...re-installed engine and drove it out 2 hours later....then 2 days after that i drove it texas (fuel cost there and back $120)

my first was a 1972 Gran Torino Sport which I drove until it was dead almost over 150,000 miles on top of what it had when I bought it.

My favorite is the 1959 Impala

the look on my face is probably because i'm really stoned, and i'm 6 foot 3, riding my little cousins bigwheel. i guess i was a little embarrassed of that ride, so i cropped it. might as well post the original for laughs:

the pic wasn't taken when i first got the car.

the engine was in good condition still. the frame was pretty much completely rusted out, so that's why it had to go.

my dad has had two ford trucks go over 200,000

..do you still have the original pic with the big wheel or did you crop it out long ago?
