I do post in the other forums, just not as much. I don't see it as a tension. There are plenty of non-Brits who post on this forum. In fact some of them post more here than anywhere else. It's not because I, or anyone else I suspect, like Brits more than members from other countries. It's simply because this forum, as an online space, provides quite a uniquely friendly and open atmosphere which you won't get if you go to Random Thoughts or The Whiners or whatever. It's also much smaller and less daunting. When I first joined these forums about six years ago, I used to post much more on the other forums. In fact I moderated Hippies, Young Hippies, Random Thoughts, America Attacks and Politics. But since it's become so huge I've concentrated my limited time here where I feel more at home, and where I know pretty much everyone. There is a degree to which that stems from this place representing a real community, both online and offline. I'd accept that at times that might seem like a bit of a clique. But that's not to identify any tension and we're not a closed community, we are open and welcoming, and new members pop their heads round the door every week, plenty of whom aren't from the UK....

Not John, Hendrix. And it's not that he wasn't tough enough, I think Ezzie meant that in an ironic way. He just hit the speed and sleeping pills too hard. He'd take loads of speed to keep him up through performances, and take loads of sleeping pills to knock him out at the end of that. Anyone doing that every night is going to put their body through a lot of strain. It's not about being tough. It's about responsibility. Hendrix was irresponsible with his body, he didn't respect it, and it killed him....

 

Noo, I meant Hendrix not being "tough" (not the right word but alas tiredness) enough to cope with the stress of performing and the high amount of energy he had to use on stage and all.

Seven ages of rock was on, on Saturday on bbc 2 at around 9pm, was the story of Hendrix- fantastically done.
