You Know You're Getting Older When...

There are some kids that know nothing before their time.....but why didn't THEIR parents take the time to introduce them to things? My mom did. Every Saturday afternoon she would bust out her records and play Floyd or Fleetwood Mac....I have a great admiration for old music, movies, etc., and I owe that respect to my mom

I've always been called an "old soul" and knew what everything from my parents' generation was. I was using a record player long before a CD player. In fact, I don't think we got our CD player until I was about 6 years old! And it was an "old" one from my uncle! I was so confused when we got it because I kept wanting to turn the CD over! Hahaha!

 

You really know how to make a person feel old -- I got my first CD player when I was 55!

 

Damn - I just realised ! wow I'm getting old - I'm calling young people - them and they ! Damnation - and there was me at 18 years old I thought 26 was ancient and that I couldnt see myself living that long - now look at me - I've had more 21st and 34th birthdays than betty davies had cigarettes (no dont ask who betty davies was puleeez)

PAH! Fleetwood Mac and you wonder why kids in their 20's know nothing - my mom used to bust out all the hip tunes of Offenbach and Strauss on the old 78rpm player If the needle broke we just used to tape a sparrow to the player arm for an hour, and put its beak on the record.

When I saw the anniversary re-airing of the "I'd like to buy the world a Coke" commercial - that really raised my eybrows, and seeing the 30 year anniversary commemoration of Star Trek really spooked me out, but what really woke me up was finding out that I was a contemporary of Albert Einstein.

 

for me i know that im getting old when people i watch on reality shows are younger than me and i mumble damn kids under my breath. I'm 18 people is there a way to stop this rapid aging, maybe i just cant relate to my generation, but i think we can all agree that Laguna Beach must end.

how about when kids younger than you are dressing up as tv characters from shows that went off the air before they were born???

I just read a news item tonight, Bob Barker is retiring from "The Price is Right". I remember seeing him on "Truth or Consequences" during the Vietnam War. Frequently the show would have a Soldier on leave and reunite them with a wife or close family member.

His hair wasn't totally white back then. I think it was brown.

 

You Know You're Getting Older When...you get senile remembering the past. You Know You're Getting Younger When you start buying the same toys you had as a kid!

My epiphany had to be in the form of cassettes and videos. It seems that once upon a time i saw videos and cassettes being sold in HMV and Tesco and then suddenly a few years later, they are being sold in second hand shops or cash converters for less than the price of a mars bar.
