do you have to chat and have conversations in my threads of all places? its bad enough that you post in them but if you wanna have a conversation, do it in your own threads or pm the person.

Off Topic Postings: Often people post remarks that have nothing to do with the subject of the forum or thread. Occasionally threads are deliberately taken off topic to advance an opposing agenda or disrupt the discussion. These posts will be moved or deleted at the discretion of the moderator, and the user may be banned. We urge all members wishing to discuss a new topic to start a new thread in the appropriate forum.

I guess I agree with whoever said that nobody can really be completely one way or the other, really. I think it was themnax actually. I mean if you're always passive agressive then you're eventually going to snap or have a break down of sorts. If you're always agressive you're probably going to be highly disliked or end up getting what you deserve.

To me I feel that, like everything else, there is a delicate balance that needs to be kept. To know when agression is called for, and when it's not. I guess though, as with most balances, it is hard to keep a good balance early on in life. You either go too much to one extreme or too much to the other.

As consequences for each extreme surface you learn why extremeties are not a good thing. Sure there are people that don't learn or learn too slowly, but they suffer tremedously because of it, in my mind. There's the kid that's always picked on because he never ever stands up for himself. Then there's the kid that gets hospitalized for telling a robber to get a job.

In the end, we are who we are, and nobody will ever balance passiveness and agressiveness perfectly. Atleast I would think not. Anybody who can has my envy.

    On a second thought:

Who really decides when agressiveness is appropriate and when being passive is appropriate? I mean perhaps you think being agressive is an appropriate reaction for something, but onlookers do not. Then you come across as an asshole for something you felt was completely called for. Or vice versa and you look like a total idiot getting walked on when you just thought you were doing the right thing. So, I guess it doesn't matter if you're passive, agressive, or both at appropriate times because the propriety of your actions will always be a subjective matter.

the way i take the question is more like "do you act out without addressing the issue directly or do you address something directly right away so there's no confusion or mystery"

not even just that.... you can be more passive aggressive and still let the person know what you are upset about.... but it would be more like you express why you're upset but then pretend you're over it and then talk behind their back or purposly do little things to annoy them, etc....

where as a more aggressive personality might yell and scream but when they are done with that, they are truly over it
