Both my step-mother and step-sister have that condition. My step-mom has 5 children, and my sister has a 2 year-old and plans for more.

Having a child is not going to cure your depression in the long term. It's not fair to your future kid to continue going untreated for depression while raising him or her.

I'm tired of people making suggestions and getting yelled at by you, sweet.

You posted here a while back that you were depressed when you married.
If your entire life is focused on having a child, you need balance.
Find it. Healing will come in the Universe's way.

Sweet- final straw w/ u- i just got back results that I WILL NOT BE able to have a child, so therefore i have to have alternatives. If adoption or fostering is what you have to do to fulfill your life so be it.

IF i have a child the more risk me and my child will be at. Miscarriage, heart attack, high blood pressure, cholestrol, etc, ... I'd be more than happy to raise a 14 y/ o childs baby or a baby that doesn't have real parents. I've taken on roles before and child care for almost 9 years. WAKE UP to reality. Its not the same , but you have the role modelling, TLC.

Wow, I just read threw this forum and I must say I have yet to see someone be as down right rude to people who were trying to comfort or help them. Sweet, I understand your pain I do, I was told by doctors at the tender age of 19 that I could not have a child. HOWEVER, I am aware that having sex and carrying a child to term is NOT the only way of becoming a mother. IMHO you have alot of inner trouble to deal with before having a child, if you were truely depressed it would not be one thing that would make it all better. I'm speaking here as someone who's husband has suffered from depression for years and has even been hospitalized with it. Your acting very childish with your "I want it and I want it now" mentality. But whatever it's not my life, I just react badly to seeing so many wonderful people being spat on because they arent telling you what you want to hear. Good luck with having your child, I really help the entire process helps you grow up, cause god knows if your going to have a child you'll need to.

I think that people don't speak up anymore because it is a losing battle. It has been with every one of her threads. People trying help her, offer suggestions, share experiences, consoling her, but it always turns negative. It is depression, and depression harbors negativity. Unfortunately, it seems that when a person is negative all the time, it brings on bad things. So we can try to help by offering our words and positivity, but when over and over, you are slapped with negativity, you stop trying to offer kind words.

I hate the fact i can't have children because ...
and i'm 26 and had to 3 more years just to find out i can't have children.
And I can't because of everything else i was diagnosed with. But you know with everything that goes on in life; theres always positive to a negative . Sure let me drag my whole entire life on and on because i can't have children. No!@ let me reflect on why ? what would the chances be if?? I can adopt WOW ?
    I work with Children WOW?
I'm becoming a Social Worker!! Bonus!
Even though its not the same you have the bond with the child and you get to send them home!! Even better!! And councel them to make the parents life better. Try to get to know someone before you say HATE . I never look at someone and say your stupid your dumb or ugly get a life . I'm straight w/ them. I am very honest with them, sure i know how it feels to have a miscarriage too. Want me to go on?

Honey, no one is looking down their noses at her AT ALL. I've been depressed, I've been on meds, I've been in hospitals.. believe me when I say I am the last person who would ever look down on someone for having emotional or mental difficulties.

What we are frusterated about is that we've been trying to help her see the way out of her depression for months now, and its not working. And while I am not judging her, I am done trying to help her when she seems unwilling to help herself.

sweet appears to only want echo sympathy.
Writers on this board have tried to offer suggestions and she has slapped them down, sometimes rudely.
I think this discussion is OVER.
