All about Steve I agree. Everything he touches is awesome. Even some of the pop 80s Asia stuff... if you listen to the guitar work (and not the sappy lyrics) it's incredible. Totally changing topics, did anyone watch Sex & the City on TBS this week? Sarah Jessica Parker was wearing this really trippy Yes t-shirt in one scene. I laughed my ass off. Um... not that I ever... watch Sex & the City... I'm, like, a guy.
damn. i never saw that show. too much time spent jammin to YES tunes man! and blazing while jamming to YES tunes. all about Steve though.
Yes have probably the most talented rock musicians ever. Jon Anderson is probably the singer with the highest voice in England. Steve Howe is probably the best classically-trained rock guitar player ever. Chris Squire invented multiple bass lines. Rick Wakeman probably has the biggest collection of keyboards that anyone's ever seen. And Bill Bruford is probably the best jazz drummer England's ever seen. Alan White, is more of a straightfoward rock drummer. Where Bill Bruford can provide some interesting jazz figures in 7/4 time, Alan White takes that same figure a little more straight-lined. And that's not a bad thing. Listen to 'Yessongs'. All of the songs were originally played by Bill Bruford on the albums, and Alan White does a spectacular job especially on the live versions of 'Close To The Edge' and 'Roundabout' (with the exception of "Perpetual Change" and "Long Distance Runaround/The Fish", which were recorded from the Fragile Tour played by Bill Bruford).
