Indeed it would exist if government supremacists like you allowed it to. If Jesus’s healthcare miracles were real, why can’t we harness that technology to cure everyone, and solve this healthcare problem forever? Curing everyone with magic
Seems uncertain, not unlikely. Your ramblings about how a free market will likely provide fairer healthcare to every citizen than a healthcare system most western countries use are more unlikely. Change my mind! :-D
Our system has issues because the profit motivation drives up costs dude We have the most expensive healthcare in the world
I'm not even sure you really believe this yourself, but a government will always interfere with a 'free' market. So you're talking about a 'free market' like you act Sanders is talking about 'free healthcare' is kinda funny and hypocritical (and by your own logic: pure evil!). And one thing that seems absolutely clear is that a completely free market will benefit opportunistic business people more so than the average Joe needing an expensive treatment.
It's hilarious when libertarian types act like scheduling a life saving surgery is the same as picking out a pair of shoes. Like we would just have the option of leisurely browsing the cheapest surgeon on a lazy saturday afternoon. And as if the cost of major surgery and cancer treatment will just magically come down to prices the average person can afford if we would only get rid of those cursed government programs. Such ignorance
If you would take a moment to ponder the fact that Trump has more than one Rolls Royce; then, you will understand all that is wrong in the world, and capitalism is the cause of inequality.
Tysonwood, if you think I am melting down, you don’t know me well at all. For the most par I am sorry but comparing the two numbers is like comparing the stats of a hockey player with those of a basketball player. The numbers are based on different premises and include different pieces. I will just use round numbers here as an example say your gross income in Canada is 100 dollars 25 dollars of that goes to the provincial government 25 dollars goes to the federal government your net income is 50 dollars yet your tax bracket is based on your gross income, so your income scale is for taxes is 25% deductible, but that isn’t necessarily true. They put a max dollar value on what you can claim back, and might get something back if you don’t exceed a number, so if you need hearing aids for example, this is not covered. Say You pay 5000 for hearing aids, but the government says, even though you have contributed to the system, I am sorry, here is 500 dollars to satisfy you. Your expense doesn’t effect your income when it is a necessity. Oh you have our drug plan. Oh, I am sorry, your drug is not covered, we won’t cover it, And that is for people on government subsidized drugs plan. So people have gone privatized plans which is far less of a hassle. You pay property tax as well, this does not reduce your income This property tax was suppose to be used for education in a city, Provence to pay for public education. Up tp grade 12. But the federal government(liberals at the time) said, nope, no more, we are taking that and using it how we want, Mortgage interest deduction does not exist in Canada either. everything is taxed, with what is called hidden taxes. For example, a chocolate bar in Canada is 1 dollar. 18 cents has already been added on for the federal government in hidden taxes, and then you are taxed again, provincially and federally, In Ontario it was lowered to 13 percent, the two taxes use to be separate, provincial sales tax and federal sales tax, this was brought in about 20 years ago, we use to only have a provincial sales tax. so that one dollar chocolate bar, which should have been 81 cents now costs 1.13, with about 25 cents going to the federal government, it is like that for everything, you don’t get that back, Now the fed government (trudeau) wants to add a carbon tax. This tax applies to Gas, diesel & natural gas, often used to heat homes, whether that be a house, apartment or shack. This year we are being taxed 4.4¢/L, which is about 16.5 cents per us gallon. Next year this amount is going up to 11.1¢/L - 41.3 cents per us gallon. This number is added on to the already hidden taxes on gas, diesel and natural gas. There is already a hidden tax on it called excise tax at a flat rate of 10 cents per litre or 37 cents a us gallon. under trudeau senior, the federal government was spending 40 cents out of every dollar that Canadians earned. This was 229 % increase in spending by 1976 and it increased more so later. in other words, 2 out of your 5 day work week is paid to the federal government in 1976. This outrageous abuse of working people’s money is crazy, and has been terrible abused. We are taxed to death,
Our healthcare expensive because corrupt politicians and lobbiests meddled with it, thereby altering the prices in a negative way. Are you smoking meth? Profit motivation doesn't drive up costs. For example: If a Healthcare Provider A wants to jack up the prices of their goods and services in a free market, who's to stop an entrepreneur or an alternative Healthcare Provider B from creating better care at a better price? Provider B will gather more customers than A, and create more profit. Thus, the market drives down the costs. Healthcare Provider A could buy out Healthcare Provider B's business to try and monopolize the healthcare industry. But eventually Healthcare Provider A will run out of money trying to buy out Healthcare Providers C, D, E and so on when they enter the market as competitors. It's hilarious that government supremacist types think that healthcare can be perfected at the hands of a select few bureaucrats, when it is such a complex and dynamic industry that is ever changing.
Your healthcare is for a large part expensive because a lot of treatments are expensive, not primarily because of corrupt politicians. It is simply expensive taking care of every cancer patient in a nation. Now, we have some great treatments (nothing less impressive than Jesus' supposed miracles i would say), but they're pricey. Would they be less pricey/costly in a free market? How so?
It's like I'm watching Bert and Ernie explain economics. If reality would actually be as simple as this theory every country would go along with it. But I think there are plenty of examples in reality that show its not this simple.
Speaking of cars and a president, I found this very interesting and telling. Motorcades under George W. Bush was up to 24 cars. Under Obama they constituted 30–45 other vehicles. why was this? Very simple. 1. To create drama surrounding himself, completely disregarding green house gases. 2. To contribute to green house gases and climate change, Vehicle green house gases are carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and methane, Shame on him. It was and is all a show! I saw prince Harry’s motorcade in Toronto, it was maybe 6 vehicles, including police cars to stop traffic.
Again, the typical norms of the free market dont work like that in healthcare. In terms of "choice," there is no choice when you need immediate, life saving, and prohibitively expensive treatment. Healthcare cost is prohibitively expensive for most people, hence why we have insurance and other countries have single payer or socialized care. Someone can compare the cost of cancer treatments between various hospitals all day, but it makes little difference when they cant afford any if the options. So now that we've established that medical treatment is too expensive for the average person without some sort of insurance system in place, we must examine which option drives down costs the most - a non profit single payer/nationalized healthcare, or a private insurance based system. And the proof is there, right in front of your eyes if you would bother to even do the mininal amount of research. Administrative work within the insurance industry adds 18% to cost. Then there's the profit margin - both for the insurance companies and private healthcare practices. Then there's the fact that the consumer has no say in determining price in an insurance based system. Pricing is contractually set between each healthcare provider and each insurance company. Which creates a voluminous and tedious amount of paperwork, which adds to the administrative costs as I have no doubt you understand quite well. Single payer systems eliminate the profit motive. It allows the government to negotiate reasonable prices for the people without various parties' self interests driving up costs. It eliminates the administrative costs. There's a reason the US has the highest healthcare costs in the world. And on that note, going by your logic, if politicians are the ones driving up costs it would stand to reason that countries with a single payer system would have costs comparable to the US. But they don't. So how, specifically, are politicians driving up costs in the US? Please give examples and cite sources.
lol no. You don't get to do this. Answer a specific with an abstract that doesn't address my actual question and then turn around and ask your own question. We're not talking about prosperity we're talking about health
Your ability to miss my point is impressive. What I believe isn't the issue here. It's that you said universal healthcare was "purely evil." You then walked this sentiment back by saying no that's not what you meant but that the federal government handling healthcare was what was truly evil. Dude, if you'd said that you had a mistrust of the government handling this, or were uneasy about it or concerned, I'd agree. But you didn't say mistrust, concern, or uneasy. You said purely evil. Don't try and spin this into a whole "hahaha you believe in Jesus" thing
