I think the most naive you sound there is because you seem to perceive such an escalation to revolve around religion. You don't have to side with any religious side or group here. And why would Iran nuke Europe?
Ha, ha, ha…lol.. Someone comprised a list of the top 100 stupid things Trump has said over the past 3 years, and no one, I mean no one, not even George Bush is that stupid. As for him being a billionaire, he was given 415 million dollars by his father to become a financial mogul and by all estimates he’s failed miserably in most if not all of his enterprises. Sure he’s made money (as anyone naturally would) if they started out with 400 million and invested in safe stocks, but as far as being a successful businessmen – he’s a joke
You're just saying that to be mean. But how can you be so blind to the truth. Donald Trump is everyone's best buddy. He rich because he they are good and smart. Iran is the evil ones.
I never said Iran would attack Europe, I just think that Europe is a much closer target. The religious part was referencing the Crusades, but I thought that was pretty obvious tbh. Plus you also seemed to miss my blatant "they can't actually do it" parts.
Iran (aka Persia) is one of the oldest civilsations on earth and has a wealth of history and culture far, far superior to that in the US.
Spartans ha, You do realize years later they teamed up with those same Persians to defeat the Athenians ...lol...
It's closer indeed, but not a serious iranian target me thinks (if they even could nuke it indeed). Just seems like that Those other aspects triggered a thought i felt like sharing. If I would find myself in a historic crusade (which would frankly be terrible, despite my love and fascination for the time period) I wouldn't side with any big faction.
In case you hadn't noticed, go look at at an atlas and check out the Gulf of Homuz. It only needs a SAS missile loauncher in the hands of someone capable of handling it, standing on the shore and firing at any passing American Tanker.
my 2 cents on this issue==this is a hippieforum and most of hippies i knew in the sixties were pacifists==they hated war...since that era i have heard nothing else than war==huge contradiction towards the hippie slogans=make love, not war...whether we will face a World war 3?i doubt it=nations are just bragging and threatening each other?is it between Iran/Israel?North Korea/USA,India/Pakistan?conflicts arise all around the world and certainly can escalate, let's keep our fingers crossed, universal peace is an utopia because people on the top go for political imago and power, whether it's Trump,Erdogan etc...i travelled 4 times through Iran bewteen 1972-1974 and i must say i liked that country and its people=i mean in those days Iran was O.K...it all changed with Ayatollah Khomeini...we can call it Islam on the rise,is it?anyway let's not forget we're hippies here, but that was only a counterculture,in fact hippies failed, just like student protests in France 1968,or student protest in Hongkong today=bottom line is we're only tiny needles in a haystack,we can just sit and watch..nothing more then that,folks..
Iran is not an empire anymore. But... I think too that if they really wanted to hurt their enemy they could. The thing is its likely not worth the consequences for them. It will either be returned in a stronger way by said enemy or an ally or they will be sanctioned to death by the international community
I was trying to make a hypothetical funny You've known me a decade now. I'm in your life forever. God.
Lots of people in and aspects of Iran are ok. They're under an oppressing regime. If anything our hippie mindset should made us sympathize with them, not stigmatise or view them as a collective of enemies. I find the protests in Hong kong very inspirational and worthwile. Was such a protest all for nothing when they don't get what they want? Arguable. Did hippies fail? Also arguable. A lot of hippie concerns have been adapted by the mainstream. The cultural revolution of the sixties had so much positive consequences i don't think we would see it as a failure, if we suddenly had to do without them. A thousand tiny needles can make a sword.
I'm really not always certain! Partly because I, and i think you too, often like to add a little humor when making a sincere point. So I'm just gonna ask or share my thought. We're here to communicate!
