Would you quit smoking weed if your new bf/gf wanted you to?

yeah man it's not about not wanting to stop a habit or an addiction, it's just an invasion of personal freedom. If my wife insisted I never wear sandals, I'd still tell her to fuck off. Small issue, not wearing sandals, but I won't respond to fascism.

 

I would do anything for the one I love, but what I don't see is why the ganja gets such special and diverse treatment when it comes to ethics. Why should the use of a substance define who you are? I don't think it does. but I use weed to deal with the fact that the one I love will never love me, so I guess If I'm able to write, that means I'm not stoned enough and am about to start caring again. Fuck

idk prolly not but depends if i love her alot and if i still like smoking as often as i do. I know i dont really enjoy being high around her so i dont usually smoke within hr to 30 mins b4 going to hangout with the girl i like

Depends how I feel about the woman. I can imagine quite a lot of things I would quit weed for . . . it's not anywhere near the height of pleasure other things can bring you, like a mate.

Weed is underappreciated in the "legit" world but overrated in the drug world.

If it were a problem like i was pawning shit for money to smoke weed or something like that lol then yea maybe i would take what they say into consideration....but im pretty sure anyone i date or every have dated since i started smoking ganja smoked or didn't have a problem w/ smoking ganja

Depends on why they wanted me to quit. If i was stuck in a dead in job or it was in some way bringing down my quality of life maybe it would serve as a kick in the sack. I personally know people who put smoking weed in front of their family, friends, and honestly they probably should not be smoking as it is.

Definitely, but I dont care much about weed (or any drug) anyways. I mean I do like being high and enjoy many drugs, but if it was something that truly bothered the person I love, I wouldnt do it. As long as he had good reasons for me not to and not a simple I just dont want you to.

 

Like many others have said here, if you have to change who you are (what you do makes who you are) in order to make someone else happy then that relationship just doesn't seem right....From my personal experience I almost went out with a girl that didn't directly tell me she wanted me to quit smoking, but I knew that eventually the topic would have come up. One of my best friends while in high school dated this chick that pretty much completely changed him. He basically stopped chilling with all of us (many of my friends had girlfriends, but we never "ditched" our friends.) and very rarely smoked. Needless to say he's still a damn good friend, but ever since that year when he just stopped chilling with us as often as he did our friendship has never been the same. I understand that the connection between someone you are affectionate with and those you are good friends with is different in many ways, it's just that we (his friends) felt kind of betrayed in a way. In the end they broke up, and his friendship with all of us was weakened because of the choices he voluntarily made. So this is a lesson for anyone with a current life "compromising" girlfriend/boyfriend, never give up or avoid friends in order to become closer to them.

 

I have cut back a lot because of my girlfriend. However, I don't think I will ever really quit. I plan on smoking for a very long time. She sort of smokes with me a little but I have to give her a lovers toke in order for her to enjoy it. If she has to cough to much she tends to back away. I got her really stoned last night though and she could not stop eating this piece of salmon I grilled for her. It was cute. The only reason that I have ever decided that I will quit is if it affects my life to the point that I can't function as a human.
