Worst movies you've ever seen?

You can advertise a movie as much as you want doesn't mean it's going to be the fucking highest grossing movie in history? Look at 2012. I enjoyed EVERYTHING about Avatar. I can understand how some people thought the plot was thin but much like music sometimes simpler is more effective and in this instance it worked for me.

The visuals and landscapes were beautiful, the action was amazing, it did not feel drawn out to me at all, eventhough it was a longer movie. Eventhough I enjoy Lord of the Rings sometimes it felt overly dramatic to me and Avatar never felt that way, but still had that exaggerated adventure/fantasy feel that gets me excited like a kid. There are movies out there like Lepercauhn In the hood, Saw 6, Johnny pNeumonic Jason in space, Howard the Duck, Freddie Got Fingered, I hate to say it but you're a moron if you think Avatar was the worst movie of all time.

All I was arguing was that highest grossing has nothing to do with the quality.
I haven't seen Avatar. I know the plot - all too well - it's a very overused plot - but I can't judge the overall product.
My worst movie of all time is Adventureland.

Titantic sucks - that was the highest grossing film at one point -- and even if you don't think it sucked, there's almost no arguing that Jurassic Park is a better film and that's the movie that it took the title from.

Similarly, Star Wars: A New Hope is definitely a better movie than E.T. (according to ratings on aggregates like Rotten Tomatoes, imdb, etc. this is a fact), which took the title from it.

 

I like all those movies but the point is understood and I agree with you. Music would probably work better in this instance for me as i'm more particular about my music so like the fact MJ's Thriller was the highest selling album or Nsync had the highest selling debut week upsets me a bit.... But I digress

The thread of the title is worst movie you've ever seen and some of those may very well qualify for most overhyped movie or biggest disappointment but certainly not the worst movie.

he's a good actor actually.

Flight of the Phoenix was good.
so was Far from Heaven, which is very far from a shitty movie.

 

I love that movie - got it on DVD.

It is a good reflection on the times. Perhaps because I was there and tho only an adolescent, lived under the oppressive homophobic atmosphere that made gay married men sneak around. Quaid was good in that role and the movie is very well made.

It may just be my preference in movies but I also liked Enemy Mine and In Good Company.

Mel is just a little over the top with his movies.

I never saw Passion of the Christ after seeing a trailer where the Romans were about to put a nail in Jesus' hand. (Nails went between the ulna and radius bones - hands would not support the weight) Made me think that with all the work and planning that this intriguing movie had go into it with the original languages was ruined subscribing to the old myth of nails in the hands. It was just another Medieval Passion Play with special effects.

Signs bothered me because alien creatures with the ability to go faster than the speed of light to get here, and time to do crop art, didn't do their research on the H2O content of this planet, which was bad for them and didn't bring HazMat suits?
