Yes really, and Putin has warned Obama that accidents might happen over skies of Syria. The local population there says that Russia has done more to exterminate ISIS in a few days than the US has in two years. Russia has also intercepted an Israeli plane over the coast of Syria. The armies of Iraq and Iran are helping the Russians and Syrians. All that translates into the word "Trouble."
Syrian civil war and IS both already translate into the word trouble. If a combined military effort could stop IS that would translate in 'one trouble less' Btw: Iran and Iraq were already involved in battling IS before Russia decided to step in. If Russia has something useful to add to fight IS (like that intelligence centre in Bagdad) of course they will get help from already involved armies/countries.
Hi Asmo, I know the Iraqis are glad to have help from Russia, because the USA never delivered the F-16 jets that Iraq paid for years ago. Also, the helicopters that the USA delivered to Iraq were not equiped against shoulder fired heat seeking rockets, that ISIS has. In addition to that, the Iraqi army has been saying for a long time that ISIS fighters always seem to have rifles stamped with "Property Of The US Government" on their receivers.
Dude, I don't know where you got that weed you've been smoking, but that shit's nothing but ditchweed. No way man. The future is ours to behold and create into whatever we want!
I've been reading the opposite, also from syrian sources. The russians are more focussing on syrians forces oppose Assad rather than focussing their attention precisely on IS.
GO on RT.COM (Russia Today) and get the other side of the story. You can also go on AZZAMAN ENGLISH for IRAQI news which has lots of coverage of SYRIA and ISIS. The main AZZAMAN is published in Arabic.
Do you think Russia Today reports news about russian politics and military efforts in an unbiased way?
Remember McCain singing, "Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran!"? Remember McCain and Lindsey Graham saying we should invade Syria? Remember Obama being pressured by them to finance the rebels in Syria? $500 Million...$50 million spent training five rebels. Today Obama changed the policy, and decided not to spend the other $450 million. Rebels....you're on your own. Remember Shrub overthrowing Saddam Hussein, and essentially installing the Shiite government in Iraq, which is basically an Iranian and Syrian ally? Remember Saddam's revolutionary guard?....They are the ones that became ISIS. Do you think that McCain and Graham want to go to war with Russia? Do you think any of the republican clown car won't do it?
From what I have seen, RT and the other Russian press have reported matters in the same way that the governments of Syria, Iraq, and Iran have reported. For example, the Iraq government has reported several times that they see evidence of air drops of supplies by the US military to ISIS. Yesterday, they showed a video of American parachutes that were found in the BAIGI oil field where ISIS fighters were camped during the takeover of the oil fields and refinary. AZZAMAN and other Iraqi papers say the same thing. I speak several languages and I read, write, and speak Arabic. I am here to tell you that it is a common opinion in Iraq and Syria: America has been supporting ISIS, right along with the Wahabi Saudi Royals. ISIS is Wahabi, and Iraq along with Syria are Shia.
Right on again RJ, and remember wars make some people VERY RICH, and some poor kid VERY DEAD. Remember what Country Joe McDonald said: be the first one on your block to have you son come home in a box!
