Not always that obvious to me at all. I think I'm a great example (for myself at least ). I never apply violence or brutal force in real life, yet or perhaps partly because of that I dig it in a good game or movie. By the way, in what way is it obvious? Is it disturbing? What I'm wondering is ok, maybe you can spot if a stranger digs violent movies (I can imagine I could spot this as well in a person) but why does it matter?
3 things for example: I see it first in the eyes of somebody. People who spent their time doing sth with real love have a very strong energy of pure love in their eyes. People who were confronted to (images of violence) have at least a disturbed energy in their eyes, not pure, undisturbed love any more. Then the aura: somebody who spent his time in harmony with nature has a beautiful aura, somebody who was exposed to (images or even thoughts of) violence has at least a disturbed aura. Then body language: most people a lot exposed to graphic violence for a long time have a body language which is less in harmoy.
So I take it it doesn't really matter. I mean it's also unavoidable if you spend alot of time in nature to encounter images of violence. They won't ruin a person in harmony necessarily. Same with a lot of violence peeps get via the tv screen. Some is disturbing of course but violence is not disturbing by definition. I'm also pretty sure peoples love and harmony can be disturbed by other things than tv violence, so who's to say at first instance by what their aura, eyes or body language was disturbed. I don't think undisturbed love is possible to maintain in most lifes anyway, even if you would avoid all possible disturbing stuff in movies and games.
There are people who can feel and see the energy or vibes of animals/people and others who cannot. Funny there is just another thread where people explain it with other words than me: http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?threadid=443832
I thought this thread might have links to academic studies or something legitimate, but instead is a few people making claims that have no rational or academic support (like the libertarians who post in the politics forums). But further still, lets say certain people can (and you of course happen to be one of them), what remains dubious is your personal and anecdotal interpretation that violence in cinema and video games is the cause for negative 'vibes' and person's lack of experience of these films and games is the cause of positive 'vibes'.
Yeah. I did read that thread too but I still wonder how you know this disturbances are caused by movies and games.
Yep, it kinda deserves it's own thread I think. Perhaps people are missing this convo since it's in the thread that's oughta be going about the panda mmo game
I play WoW, and have played it on and off since beta. And, the Sword of a Thousand Truths has yet to drop for me during that period. I don't have a lot of hope for the panda thing, not if those panda pets in the game already are any indication of what to expect. I can only imagine, with sheer horror, what the panda NPCs voices will sound like and actually say. Will they been more intelligent than the Blood elf "Be ready for anything!"? Bet you five linen not.
They made everything really, really easy. Wait for Guild Wars 2 or Tera Online in my opinion. Play Rift until then :] Actaully takes paying attention to mechanics.
World of Warcraft is a medieval based game. If you look at it historically, killing animals for food and killing enemies were a very common way of life. Life was dark, but it was light too. If you played games, you'd realize there is much more involved in WoW other than *killing*. Do you hate on Star Wars too because it has "dark" content? I don't know ... I just find it random and strangely odd that if you think so negatively about MOST video games and consider it EVIL - why are you posting in the Gaming threads? Other than to get your opinion out I guess? :/ I rarely eat meat, I am polite, I've never hit a person in my life and absolutely NEVER thought of killing someone or something. I play WoW though, and by the way your talking it sounds like you think these video games are for a bunch of sadists. Anyway, thats my two cents. Peace n love brotha holmes
So, Pandaren. Discuss. :3 I play, and am quite fond of them honestly - I think MoP is a big upgrade from Cata.
I just recently cancelled my subscription to WoW after playing steadily since December 2005. The game (IMO) is still amazing, you have to play it on ultra to get the best WoW experience; the graphics are beautiful. BC was my favorite expansion, it sorta went down hill after that, everything was turned into "easy mode" for the carebears who rolled on a PvP server. I'll definitely renew my sub when I get rid of this satellite internet connection. I have a 90 Undead Warlock, 90 Retribution Paladin, 90 Frost Mage, 85 Feral Druid, 85 BM Hunter, 85 Blood DK and lots of bankers and lowbie alts. I play on Spinebreaker / Horde / US, I've been there since 2005, I made one Alliance toon years ago on Hakkar, I leveled him up to 63, then deleted him. For the Horde....
