Ireland clearly left the British Empire.
North Ireland wanted to be part of the UK, as ultimately per an Irish civil war that effectively blamed the British for doing so - not the Irish Unionists.

Those Irish "right wingers" you seem to fondly speak highly of and been socialising with, maybe you'd do a better job of befriending them instead of being a modern left-winger hell bent on destroying the remaining British nation you have left of your own country, instead of criticising a fellow Brit who actually, you know, loves their country and their/our way of life over things you're happy to get rid of.

Have you come across East London rhyming slang. It was used in the television series. 'only fools and horses', but most of it was edited out, because few people would have understood it.

Trouble and strife on the dog and bone nagging about my whistle and flute.
Wife on the phone asking about my suit.

Most slang involves shortening a sentence, but rhyming slang dose the complete opposite.
It is the basis of many traditional London pub names. Whistle and Flute pubs were intended for office workers.

Far from it, I'm a Republican, want to see the abolition of the Monarchy and replaced with a 'proper' democracy wherein we can actually vote for an elected head of state. In Ireland, my political beliefs are closer to Sinn Fein who want to see a reunification of Ireland.

Our monarchy is our heritage, and was/is the most successful monarchy the world has ever known?
As much as we think the monarchy is a total waste of time these days, just like some of our crumbling buildings that we're paying an absolute fortune to maintain for the sakes of "they don't build them like that anymore!", our way of life should have the respect to maintain that heritage for keeping a slacker of a leader with a crown on their head. Its tradition that has worked for a thousand years - what other countries leadership has been that successful? - even created the most advanced/best group/organisation/empire the world has ever known - only somewhat defeated by the Nazi's? Our monarchy has never ever done nothing wrong to us, particularly considering we are such an extremely small island compared to the world, that has done both more for itself and for all civilisation advancement than literally anything else in human history?

These days we moan about climate change and such. Democracy will mean absolute and utter nothing when things hit the fan, then we will all be shot back into the dark ages back to ground zero of being civilised. How does this not make sense to some people?

Being somewhat indelicate, Bullshit !!! - Go far enough back in history and you'll find that the monarch was merely a bigger robber baron than the other robber barons and so they 'crowned' him. Must I, a member of the working class pay homage to the current monarch simply because she is the inheritor of past theft and murder ??? - I say 'NOT BLOODY LIKELY' !!!

    That is basically just capitalism.
What you want is the promotion of pure socialism just for the sake of a utopia for all people regardless of their background or wherever they come from.
If you are truly from a working class background then you would 100% appreciate the need for "looking after our own" ie our countrymen, which in your generation was engraved into your skull of patriotism, which doesn't seem to be the case for you?

I'm pretty sure coriander is still used to refer to the aforementioned plant's seeds.

I'm deffo not a Londoner or cockney. But of course Only Fools and Horses was among the best loved British TV series ever, among everyone, ever. Some of it was edited out for sure, no surprise there.

Britain already had its own diversity, even comparing Birmingham to its very own English neighbours who spoke other accents entirely to its south, west and north that many non-English speakers would struggle to understand.
But you know, dare we say anything for its seen as racist. Love you too, world. Once the global empire of the world... how great and loving!

We were the greatest. I've yet to meet anyone who can say squat against it. even Americans.
Americans are great but lets be honest,. they only protect us Brits because we're their family and their Atlantic version of Pearl Harbour that is Hawaii. Also, we owe them everything because of both world wars.

    "mental"

The word in the US is used in a very specific context, I think it's used much more casually in the UK.

Queen Lizzy the 2nd you have zero idea of how to live life even after all your years potential of living life to the max I'd just absolutely OWN Las Vegas and put modern femisim to shame as if they're a bunch of nuns. Sorry, some of us have just come a real working background with zero influence from celeb bollocks.
And if Prince Harry was my grandson I'd so get him a f'ing DNA test because there is NO WAY... ya know.

I know what it is. I'm just saying that the leaves of the plant are referred to as "cilantro" in the U.S., but the seeds are still called "coriander".

It's ok... we do that contronym thing with some words too. Like in a kind of slang way some people will say something/someone is bad to mean good.
