I don't mind Macs actually, I like Linux better though. I hate windows, Vista especially. It takes up a lot of space and rarely runs how you want it and is constantly freezing or programs aren't responding, however I use it at the moment. but yeah, it's "easier" to use, keep thinking that for now, but you will see... oh, you will see On the topic of Linux, I didn't like Suse, it was alright but I think the computer I had wasn't good for it. Ubuntu is maybe the best I've tried out, easy to use and set up and knoppix is fun because it has so many unneeded applications to mess around with and no commitment to your computer lol yay Tux! ...speaking of Tux, anyone play Super Tux?
good god, i just tried to look up linux, but even the wiki article is mostly jibberish to me... basically i can tell that it's an operating system, but i had figured that much out already... oh well, maybe if i read the full article, but i still don't care all that much... i've yet to have windows not work for me and i wouldn't know how to begin downloading a new operating system that is apparently more complicated anyway...
It's an operating system, like what windows is, but better, (generally) smaller, faster, smarter, safer, and considerably cheaper. meaning you can legally get it, and most of it's software free by downloading it, or purchase it in a store, like windows. You can also get a computer with it already installed from dell.
Be careful with Acer. My friend and I both had Acers notebooks and they each went out within a year and a half. The motherboards burn out and fuck up the whole system. It's very sad.
If I can use Linux, anyone can... Once you learn about and use Linux you will not want to go back to Windows...ever...
PS: I still have Windows XP and it has served me well since it came out. I have no intention of getting Vista. Ever.
