At this point we don't know much about Omicron but early reports indicate the symptoms are milder than in previous variants. A less deadly strain that spreads rapidly could lead to the herd immunity we're hoping for. Let the dumbass anti-vaxxers catch it and become immune, and let those who are already vaccinated catch it and become even more immune. It's sad but that might be the only way to immunize these morons who are more afraid of the life-saving vaccine than of the deadly disease.

Got my Pfizer booster shot yesterday at the VA- I wanted to keep it all the same and in-line with the first two vaccines I received. I know it was put out that any booster can be received, regardless of which vaccine brand you got previously. The nurses recommended not doing that, and to keep everything the same.
All is well, no issues at the moment. There was no booster shot from Johnson & Johnson available though.

I'm going to get my Moderna booster at the VA next week since I'm fast approaching that critical 8 month mark

I actually meant the comment for governors of other states (cough cough Florida, cough cough Texas). COVID denial and sexual abuse are both equally bad things, but one involves conscientious acts and the other outright stupidity.

The Coronavirus Attacks Fat Tissue, Scientists Find

From the start of the pandemic, the coronavirus seemed to target people carrying extra pounds. Patients who were overweight or obese were more likely to develop severe Covid-19 and more likely to die.

Though these patients often have health conditions like diabetes that compound their risk, scientists have become increasingly convinced that their vulnerability has something to do with obesity itself.

Now researchers have found that the coronavirus infects both fat cells and certain immune cells within body fat, prompting a damaging defensive response in the body.

“The bottom line is, ‘Oh my god, indeed, the virus can infect fat cells directly,’” said Dr. Philipp Scherer, a scientist who studies fat cells at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, who was not involved in the research.

Politics aside this is effecting a percentage of the world, I just hope it ends soon and we can all get back to normal.

My father worked in Japan and spent lots of time there on manufacturing projects. He said Japan was most likely the most-polite nation/society in the world. He loved the Japanese people and started to lean their language when he was in his fifties. His friends and co-workers from Japan used to come to America and visit with us at our lake cottage in northern Indiana. Unlike the Republicans in America, Japanese people are actually good at science and mathematics and wash their hands after using the toilet.

Man vaccinated up to 10 times in the same day

He’s vaxxed to the max, and that might not be a good thing.

An unidentified man in New Zealand may have been vaccinated as many as 10 times in a single day, according to Stuff.

The popular kiwi publication reports that it’s believed the multi-vaccinated man may have been paid to get shots under the names of other individuals, who want the privileges extended to those protected against COVID-19, but don’t want to get the jabs.

New Zealand Ministry of Health vaccine program manager Astrid Koornneef told Stuff that officials were “aware of the issue” and taking it “very seriously.”

I have always wanted to go to Japan. Don't know if it will happen. Something about the culture, from the Yakuza, to the Sumo wrestlers, intrigues me.
