More canal breach flooding predicted Tuesday, 6:35 p.m. Mayor Ray Nagin issued an urgent bulletin through WWL-TV at 6:30 p.m. Nagin said efforts to stop the flow of water at the breach on the 17th Street Canal are failing, which means the floodwaters will rise again. Nagin said the waters will soon overwhelm the pump, shutting it down. He said the water will rise to 3 feet above sea level - or 12-15 feet in some places of east Jefferson and Orleans parishes. Nagin has advised residents who have not already evacuated to do so as soon as possible.
I think it will end up under water in like 10 years from now... one cool thing then would be this great tourist attaction I've just thought of: to visit New Orleans in a submarine!
though i would like to state here that i dnt' consider stealing food or water looting. in fact, considering their situation, i don't consider stealing alcohol to be looting, either. frankly, i'd need a drink, too. also, i'd probalby try to get my blood pressure medicine. from a pharmacy. that's just good sense.
hmmm, yea, if its about to go underwater anyway and ruin all the stuff thats being looted, ya might as well take it and put it to some us.
The looting I understand, (though I dont find the carjacking right or robbing others that are stranded or have nothing as well right either..) People panic in times of a crisis or chaos and get scared that they will have nothing for them or their family and so looting is just an instinct..
yeah. and some people are just dicks who've got a lot of aggression pent up against people who have more than they do.
Thats just the worst taking things from people who have nothing either.. go loot a store, not my pile of items that I recovered from my non-exsistant home, ya know...
true. my fatalistic nature is one of the reasons my man is so perfect for me. he'll come out the winner every time.
