i was shown by my history teacher in high school. he was a hippie. ahah. it was awesome.
he'd all get excited when the music matched the movie, and tell us. "see what the lyrics are about and what the movie is about here!!"

all I know is my ex keeps 2-4 cases of it (at all times)in a cupboard under the microwave for the kids.
a case has 24 packages (I think) of ramen in it. My has the late-late schedule at work and was getting home at 1am and my oldest daughter gets up for work at 4am, so sometimes early in the mornings 1 of them is making Ramen a couple times a week.

They will sometimes cook it in with a can of diced tomatoes instead of plain water. All the kids like it that way.

Because even the impoverished need variety -

I ate a shitload of bulk rice (with hot sauce and cheese) as well as a shitload of ramen towards the end of all three of my university years. I also ate a lot of day-old bagels, cereal with water, and toast.

No, no, I wasn't saying anything about her intelligence. By stating her age, I was just saying that she's far too young to waste any time worrying about this, not that she's not old enough (or intelligent enough) to understand it. She makes sense, but that was the whole idea: just don't worry about it, because you can't change it, and it really doesn't affect you. :D

actually, nobody knows anything about ramen until they've had the university experience.

My girlfriend explained to me the science of eating Ramen.

-Buy up about five or ten dollars worth of Ramen, plus the basic things you have to have.

-Eat the Ramen as your staple food for about a month, or until you are just sick of it.

-By that time, you should have enough money saved up to buy actual food. Go buy that, and live on that until broke.

    -Repeat process.

I also buy up some Campbell's condensed soup. I can survive on that and Ramen for a good while.

I learned it in high school, when I was living with my Mom and we didn't have any money. I spent a whole summer eating nothing but Ramen and condensed soup. That was in 2001. I didn't eat Ramen again until 2004. Being near it would bring me to the point of vomiting.

I can make super good flavoring if I base it off of theirs
or if I boil the noodles in their flavouring, strain it, then add my own seasoning

but I can not make it from scratch

:D you people don't know that i am dirt poor. i've lived off ramen tons of times. so have my friends. i like it, honestly. it's just a silly concept to have it all packaged off into single servings, wrapped in plastic, if that's all you're gonna eat or if you can afford to just buy real food all at once. or when someone has cans of soup, instead of just buying one of those big buckets where you add water and cook as much as you need when you're hungry. or applesauce that comes in little packages. stringcheese. i'm just saying that it's not good for you, it's cheaper to buy food bulk and learn how to boil water without an instruction label, and there wouldn't be so much waste if we did. i didn't think it would turn into a debate.

there are boxes of plastic bags of 100 calories worth of wheat thins, because people can't take the time to just count them out themselves and they are SO concerned with their "diet".

and then lunchables... crackers, cheese, meat, juice, and candy. people who can afford lunchables PROBABLY already have those things.

...and why should i stop caring, just because i'm 16? it does kind of matter, because it produces SO MUCH garbage. and we really can't keep making as much waste as we do. or relying on plastic as much as we do. or poisoning our bodies. or wasting money. maybe we SHOULD wonder why people do things that just don't make sense, especially when the alternative is smashing mail boxes. :)

and it's pretty lame to judge what someone knows or doesn't know based on age, when there is no way for you to know what kind of life they've lived. plus. you're 19. that's not that much of a difference.

i've lived alone and cooked for myself. i've also lived in a cafe most of my life, and know how cheap what we eat is to make.

...and phil, you don't have a crush on me? :( ...dammmmnnnn. :D

Well, you either didn't read my post(s), or you just want to argue. Allow me to quote myself:

If you were 40 living with your parents, I'd say, "sure, waste your time worrying about what people eat because you certainly have nothing better to do." But you're young, and there are just better things to worry about and occupy your mind with.

I even agreed with you on your points. I said that what you say makes sense. However, you're simply not going to get people to change until they see for themselves that they are completely fucked (and even then they might not change). Besides, if you're really concerned about the world, do you think coverting Ramen-eaters is the place to start? I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure there are bigger problems to deal with.

Please, forgive me for stating my opinion; next time I'll remember that you can't handle it.

i did read your posts. i'm sorry, but i didn't think i said anything in an assholey way. just, in general, it's best to treat people equally despite age or gender or whatever. i don't want to argue.

i am really concerned about the world, and i do think making people aware of the stupid things they do simply because they act without thinking is a good place to start. if they think "why am i buying this one, when the other one is cheaper and healthier?", they might think, "why am i driving my car when i'm only going three miles and have a bike in the garage?"... it could start a chain reaction. eating food is one thing we all do. not all of us are involved with politics or know anything about nature, not all of us do anything in particular, but what we do have in common is that we eat food.

and i can handle your opinion. can you handle mine? :)
