wow, YankNBurn.... that's a lot of guns for 'home protection'... I hate to critisize people who keep guns in the house, but stats show that there are more people who are injured with guns that live in the home with them than people outside of the home... In other words, a person living in your home is more likely to get shot and severely injured or killed than some burglar. That's why I don't keep guns in my house. They don't do anyone any good.
dunno. kept mine in a special hidden console up front in the truck. sold that gun. it was nice. suppose i'll get another and put it somewhere handy. never once even came close to being in a situation to use it, thank god.
I only listed 2 guns, the shotgun is loaded with assorted rounds, lol I do have alot of guns in the home, 27 to be exact but its just because I collect them. If a person understands that anything the front of a firearm is pointed at is dead and that they treat every firearm as if it were loaded then alot less problems would happen. Statistics also show more poeple are killed in cars than with guns, better hop on that bike. I believe that these lawsuits against firearms and ammo companies is pure bs, that is like a person sueing the dealer they bought the Corevette from, the transport company for delivery of it, and GM for making it becuase it is such a fast car and has only one purpose. The problem is people not wanting to accept liability for their own stupidity. The only warning that should be on anything is if you are stupid and dont respect what is in your surroundings you are likely to get injured or killed and so be it, let it happen before you spawn so we can weed out the dumb people, lol
Just getting started w/your collection? *g* Is it a true collection or a working arsenal? Other than junk most things collected round here are operational...... and are operated on a somewhat regular basis...
as for not doing anyone any good...well, when dave was young he was sleeping on the couch when some crazy fucker with a knife broke into their house. dave's dad pulled the gun on him, dsubdued him, hit him a few times for good measure & held him there until the cops showed up. sounds like doing someone some good to me.
That does seem pretty bizarre to have your gun in your trunk. In an emergency situation, it certainly doesn't do you any good there! My husband carries a gun on him, but it's concealed. He has a CCL, and trying to get me to get one too. Yeah right, like that's ever going to happen! He's got two guns. A Colt 45 and a 55 Magnum. I hate those things. Anytime he gets them out I literally start shaking. They make me so nervous! I'd feel happier without them around, but he grew up with his father, grandfathers, and uncles being ex military men that also had extensive home gun collections, so he's all big into the gun thing.
not everyone does I detest guns personally. I'm of the opinion that all hand guns should be outlawed and that rifles limited to two per person with a valid and current hunters safety card.
I gues I kind of consider a shotgun a rifle. My first thought was one per person, but then I realize that large game and bird require two different kinds of weapons to hunt, so two seemed more reasonable. I essentially am strongly of the opinion that guns should be used for hunting only and no one in their right mind hunts with a handgun. The story you told about Dave certainly points to the benefit of having a gun, but for every story like that one there are dozens of stories of innocent people being killed by handguns.
i've got a 7mm rem mag for big game, a .250 small game, a goose gun, and a bow for bow hunting. good eatin. however, i prefer a handgun for the home. three times in my life my home has been broken into, twice while i was in it. i'm a bit on the paranoid side.
OOOOOO OOOOO OOOOO I know!!!! So when you forget the body is in it that he/she can fire a shot to remind you.
