yeah man that was deep Musikero.. I used to hate to be working on memorizing lyrics and stuff and hearing things from a outside. Youll learn that youll be a better musician if you try to drown it out with what you have passion for. Even if it is someone elses material. Styles will always revolve around someone or another.

I'm not doing any of the above mentioned things for a living. Does putting a bandaid on when cutting a finger make me a nurse?

I agree with what you're saying, but I don't think anyone can truly "master" the art of music, especially an instrument. There's so many different styles of play, strumming techniques, progressions, and just sounds in general that no one can ever fully understand and be able to play them all. I've seen some damn good guitarists and I've often thought to myself they were like masters, but when you think about it, it's that humble attitude towards the art that really makes it oh so beautiful. Hence those who do it less for profit and recognition are in my opinion the best artists. Basically the way I approach it is I practice and play for myself, but I love to share what brings me so much joy in hopes that others will find joy in it as well. That is why I feel I need to not only continue playing, but always strive to be better at it, so that I may be at peace with myself though my playing and as an added bonus help others find that peace too. So, do I want to become by definition a "musician"?.....Well no I have other things I intend to do with my life, however I will hopefully always play my guitar and if the opportunity presents itself then why not, as I love to play anyways....

the only thing that i find stupid about music nowadays is that the music industry is slowly becoming just a pop industry... all these pop stars and rappers and mainstream artists with no real talent should be in a separate category than real musicians who actually use their talent. people are getting the definitions of pop music and real music all mixed up, if it keeps up the majority of the population will never recognize real talent but will mistake it for Britney Spears' newest song. it's kinda sad.

I'm not a musician and I don't want to be one (i work in the film industry and am happy where i am). but music is a big part of my life --- has been since age 4. it's weird when I think about it --- I think I could live without films, but not without music.
