they had no big choice: prison or public house. They chose prison. Why they were poor and hungry? Free marked ban. Bad word on Castro? Oh well - he didn't killed innocents - always only his enemies. For me he is OK. Cuban people adore him, John Paul II was OK with him. He had better nose to people than me. Castro brother Raul now is doing necessary reforms. Long life for him. PEACE

    yes this would be beneficial.

what reasons what those be? barely any cubans in poverty by the way.

i actually have been to little havanna, as i dont live too far from it, and what a hateful racist place that is! plus theres more poverty their then in cuba. ive actually talked to cubans who regret fleeing cuba.

and BTW i actually want to go to cuba. i here its a nice place.

the sanctions are doing what their supposed to. the US wants cuba to suffer. but thankfully good relations with other nations have prevented that.

mass murder? id like a little weight to that argument. "evil commie" policies? yeah those policies are real evil since Cubans have access to free health care. and 4.1% are below the poverty line. i think you sound a little ridiculous, that is especially if your praising the Cuban exile community, and the United States over Cuba.

One thing I know for sure---you do not want to discuss politics with Florida Cuban exiles except from their perspective. If you value your teeth![IMG]

i'll praise almost any country over a communist dictatorship, except maybe other dictatorships of course.

You need examples of Castro's killings and communism faults? LMFAO! read a history book or open a newspaper.

but here are a few examples for the lazy:

LOL! Yeah forget the fact that an exile community even exists in the first place LOL!

Btw, Cubans still need the Government's approval before they can leave the island and again in order to return, unauthorized travel leads to imprisonment. The Cuban government practices extensive censorship, does not hold free elections, Due Process is a joke, practices capital punishments and torture, is one of the worst countries when it comes to human traffiking, but it's okay i guess because it's leftist authoritarianism and not right-wing authoritarianism, right?

I wonder, would you be okay with walls on the U.S. borders if you could get free healthcare in exchange? Would you be okay with Democratic officials being locked up for being a member of an opposing political party if you could get free education?

Everyone has their price i guess.

And yet they don't take the risks to return that they took to escape, do they?

Because i don't praise the Kim Jong Il of Cuba? I can't believe a intelligent adult can praise a dictator without a gun to his head. So what am i missing, are you not intelligent or not an adult? Or is there a gun to your head, give me a signal if you are being forced to boot lick!

Ha ha.That's a good one.I've never praised any dictators.I just disagree with the way you feel about certain aspects of our society. As for being an adult or intelligent, that's been debatable ,I suppose.I was serious about the mountain man thing. The Ayn Rand quote you're using leads me to believe you would have been good at it.They certainly didn't depend on anyone for much of anything.Oh yeah---just so you'll know-before I would lick anyone's boots, they'd have to kill me.Even at my advanced age,I'm still able to be a serious motherfucker, when necessary.------Peace,brother.

Aspects of our society? Explain please, as far as i know all i've said is that Castro sucks, communist states suck, and while i have no great love for the american government better here than Cuba. As far as Ayn Rand, i change my sig often, and yeah she's hardcore and i'm no objectivist but her writing is sexy as hell. I don't mind helping my fellow man, i do mind a state pretending to do so on my behalf, throwing me some scraps and bones in the form of a program or 2, and telling me to like it or else, and i can't leave of my own free will or speak out against it. fuck castro.

    peace.

If you want to delete this from your thread its understandable. I'lll delete this also.

Yes, even hard core lefties flee The Island. I would be happy to support a goverment program to transport them back to Cuba should they prefer it.

    :icon_bs:

They shot my wife's Father for attempting to escape on a raft, Yay for health care!

The Princess has family on The Island, Her Cousin served as a MD with the Cuban Army during the Angola campagain in the Seventies. Another Cousin is a dentist. Food is tight there. Freedom of worship is constrained.
It is a Feudal System where the oligarchy controls your employment and your food intake, everything comes via the goverment.
The health care suffers from material shortages staffing and supply problems.

Its a funny parodox, universal literacy with a tightly proscribed reading list.

You should! Its a good place for people who don't value freedom of speech, freedom of association, freedom of assembly, freedom of movement, freedom of religion. People who think you should need a permit to access the internet and that a police state should watch your every move. A place where busting your ass for a monthly bean quota is the best you can hope for in life.
