Muslims live in fear of their g-d. I live to love mine, and that seems like a better deal to me.

That's not the original reason for this thread. If it was, we'd have seen something about it before your post. There are people who are allegedly offended by his belief that he has proof for his religion, and who are also offended by Bible verses. I don't get that at all. Bible verses are just words unless they have meaning to you. If you're not a believer, it shouldn't mean anything... Unless, of couse, those verses are speaking to you, and you don't like what they have to say. Don't kill the messanger though...

Take it up with the Author of the verse.

He's entitled to his thoughts on homosexuality, though I personally don't believe its demons that cause it. The Bible teaches that homosexuality is not within the Plan that He has for us, so we are not supposed to engage in these activities. People who are gay are no worse a sinner than the person who has sexual relations outside of marriage... That's what I get from what I read, because the Bible also makes it very clear that it's not my job to judge His people. Someone else said it best:

And Epiphany, just because I don't believe in your religion and in your Bible and in your propaganda dosn't mean I don't believe in God. I see him through me own eyes, not through a book and what it tells me to do. If you think going to church and getting "baptised" and all that jazz is the only way to be with him, you're dead wrong. There was never meant to be religion. Maybe one day you'll realize this. You'll realize relgion really is nothing but a cult, and if anything, it makes your vision of God more blurred.

I dunno. I guess it just makes me sad that people call for religious tolerance on the part of Christians... But they don't want to return the favor.

I take it kind of personally, considering that I try to be open-minded and respectful... I just want the same consideration for my G-d, too!

 

I hate to tell you this, but God didn't just create us and say, "I'll leave it all up to you." That is the purpose of the Bible. If one really knew God, they would know his word. Unless your filled with his spirit, you don't really know him. Unless his presence is living inside of you, then yes, the Bible would just be another book. Christ intended for his followers to be one union, not branch off into different religious sects. The Bible acknowledges one God, one baptism, one faith. However, because of man's ignorance and innate need to want prove himself better than his peers, we have so many factions. The devil will stop at nothing to tear the believer away from Christ. True followers know the voice of the Lord. Jesus was baptized, his apostles and disciples were baptized, and his message was of baptism in both water and the holy ghost. I don't refer to my spirituality as a religion. This is my way of life. It's not just something I do on Sunday's for kicks.

 

Just occured to me that if "we" hadn't put Jesus on the cross he might still be dead or at least he'd be in one of these old people's home...

Once again, there was never meant to be religion. God's spirit is inside all of us, and it is up to us to find him. I don't believe in God because of some book. I believe in him because I feel him, I know he's there. He's all around us, he is our surroundings. He is the water, the wind, the earth. His word is passed to me not through the Bible. The Bible is created by man and is mans interpertation of Gods word. It was created by man to write down what they interpertated.
