I love how it dances in the wind. I love how it feels on my bare skin. Oops, only for men. Well, this is why I love my long hair.
So you can cut it every two or three years and donate it to the HairGuru in Los Angeles. She makes wigs for people who are going through chemo. Everyone in that Universe wins !
why wouldnt I be able to see? It doesn't grow down in front of my face. My hair is worn like other people's hair... it's just long. but I usually braid it. I CAN do the cousin it thing. I love amusing people with my hair. Thats another good reason why having long hair is fun. you can do a bunch of neat tricks with it and entertain people.
When a man grows his hair out, it shows disrespect for conventional authority. What is the first thing they do to you in the army? Cut all your hair off. What is the first thing a guy has to do when he goes out looking for a good Establishment job? Get a haircut. That would be reason enough to do it, but the look would not work for me. It isn't for everybody.
Very conventional thinking here... JUST because a guy doesn't conform to a given norm doesn't necessarily mean he lacks respect. Perhaps the mass of group think sheeple who define themselves by their bank accounts and so-called "careers" infer disrespect but it doesn't necessarily follow that it was the guy's intent. I prefer the look and feel of long hair and I do not exist to decorate other peoples' universe. My job doesn't define my identity and I'll be damned if I'll work a single minute for someone who would impose his or her personal sense of aesthetics on me... I do NOT deal with the public and there are no real safety issues so there is zero rationale for such provisions in a dress code.
Because, by shaving/cutting your hair you are only refusing the animal that is truly inside of you trying to come out, you may as well wear hair gel and abercrombie in attempts to look as fake as possible?
Fear of being seen as faking is a type of conforming to anothers standards. If believing that I'm a fake will enhance someone else's sense of happiness then more power to them. Frankly, I dress and groom myself to my own standards and know that regardless of how I present myself there will ALWAYS be someone who believes that I should do so differently. I can only be sure that I'm not that someone.
i used to be able to sit on my hair. it was so long and it had no shape and i couldn't do anything with it, and walking down the hallways it would get caught on someones notebook and it would get ripped out. so i cut it from my thighs to my boobs.
My dude has long hair because it looks awesome. I used to have dreadlocks but I like combing too much. And my hair seriously took forever to form decently. Nothing wrong with combing. I really detest crew cuts, and I think long hair looks okay on most people
I have just the opposite problem. My career requires short hair, which causes a wide variety of people to make completely wrong assumptions about my personal beliefs and values. This is usually a bad thing.
corporate world sucks ass. they dont look at your qualities, they look at your looks, or locks.. or age.. like expercienced older folk cant get a job as well as giggling 20 year old blonde chicks and long haired dudes cant get a job as much as short haired machos. However, my boyfriend was hired as an intern at a senior home, even though they had doubts because of his hair, and now theyre sorry they ever doubted him so maybe people should knock off being so narrow minded because qualitiy lies in the heart not the hair.. Since when is your brain in your hair? oh wait.. if it was the long haired people would be hired easier.. excuse my weird train of thought just now..
someone once told me that growing your hair out is like an addiction. once you do it once, you do it again and again throughout your life. first time i grew my hair out: just rebellion. i didn't get my hair cut for like 2 months and everyone told me to cut it. i couldn't just satisfy them, you know? lol, i was 15.
Long hair is the best. I am not just another mass-produced person and I stand out especially in the rural midwest. My head shape looks the best with it too and girls like it. A hickish guy told me it looked like a sheep, but then again my family are sheep farmers... I was on a long drive and was in the middle of the Ozarks. People gave me the funniest looks because my hair was pretty messy after three days without a shower (sleeping in my honda accord with mattress in the trunk/back seats area). I love doing that to people.
There may be some truth to that. This is the third time for me. First was in the 70;s. The next was a short spell in the 80;s and the last was 4 years ago, havn't cut it since. Just love showing the rednecks there are other kind of people out there too.
