Half the fun of long hair is just getting all itchy for change and spontaneously shaving it off. Then your head feels wierd for weeks.
When I was 13 (1965) and LIFE magazine published pictures of Haight Ashbury hippies and bikers it was like a chord was struck within. That was it for short hair on my head. It grew for years and got very, very long until I had to cut it for jobs, etc. As I pursued my career it was kept short for many years until about 3 years ago. It's shoulder length and growing now with no plans to cut it. My wife likes it and I don't know what others think and don't care. I hate to be targeted by cops but that really hasn't happened and everyplace I go people are as respectful as I am to them. In fact I think most people are more relaxed with a person that has a more layed back appearance. It feels that way anyway. One funny aspect is that people assume that because of my looks that it must signify certain political positions that are common to hippies. Although I am against war in general I don't happen to share the current cut and run strategy popular amongst liberals when referring to the Iraq situation. So bottom line, long hair is as natural for me as a buzz cut is for a U.S. Marine. When you see that old man sitting on the beach with a book, multi-colored sunglasses and a gray pony down his back that would be me. Please stop by to say hi and if your holding and you'd like to share, my answer would be YES, YES, A THOUSAND TIMES YES! If your interested I can try to conjur up some old stories about Venice Beach, Whiskey A GO GO, Griffith Park Love-Ins, the Strip, Big Sur, and our commune days in Taos, New Mexico. Love to you all!
I first grew it out as a visible sign of rebellion. Even in the military I combed it straight back and hid it under my hat during inspections. Parted it down the middle and let it all hang out off base. Now I dont have much left and I wont do the comb over thing, so I keep it short. Bless the Beatles for the long hair. ~Peace
i had long hair but only because i was too lazy to cut it i just saw no reason in doing so no job that wanted it cut my school doesn't seem to care much about long hair however my parents didn't like it and made me cut it it was about an 1/2 foot afro (curly and straight one at that BIRACIAL POWER lol)
damn is that your real hair??? untangle it all and let it flow naturally then take another pic cause that would be awesome!
because i'm on a mission in life to one day successfully tie my head hair to my arse hair. when that day comes, i'll be sure to let you know.
my boyfriend wears long hair just because he feels like it reflects his personality....somehow isnt it cool anyway?
My hair is finally starting to get comfortable again. I chopped it all off a while back... first time ever with short hair, and it SUCKED. I had all these great ideas for what to do with it and it turns out my hair is wicked curly when it's short, so NOTHING WORKED. I was just an awkward looking rat's nest that made me look like a dude half the time for a year and a half. I'm finally starting to look like a girl again now this it's just a little past my shoulders. Needs to be longer, though. Just long enough to throw over the shoulder and have it actually stay there. Maybe I'll tie weights to the ends...
umm ofcourse its my tral hair and hayr yo break it to ya but..that is the way hair is nayutaly you think conditioners and combs atr natural? guess again.. hair when left to be in its natural state qwill dread..unless u prevent it by unnatural means
i grow its long for the tail experience then when i get bored of it i shave it all off right to the skin and people seem to be intimidated by it when i am bald like that regrowing in process right now
