It's called Nightwish. But then again why brother showing u people anything if metal is all about being angry! Rofl.
That shows how much people know about 'metal'. Granted, of course it seems at least half of all metal is focussed on aggression and negativity. But female opera vocals have been used for years in metal, it became popular and spawned lots of other opera vocal metal stuff as well. So yeah, I can understand the point of view from people like Meliai... I have the same with music I dislike. You get into generalizations that match the stuff you based it on, but if one thing is versatile it is metal. Why can't they just sing? Damn, never heard of Iron Maiden or Dio or something...?
Yeah, i mean honestly, all bands have growled vocals? Seriously? Those didn't even come in until the late 80s, well into metal's 2nd decade of existence.
I don't see how anyone could think all metal was growling and angry - have they never even heard of the 80s?

is this gonna turn into a "what is the definition of Metal" thread? if so ... what is the definition of Metal?
But when it gets aggressive I rather have some raging pagans scream their antichristians views than the (to me uninspired) Slipknot angst and modern age frustration. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BJxOPX9oL4"]YouTube - Troll - Drep De Kristne Who can sound pretty melodic as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6A5r8aHBHQs"]YouTube - Troll - Trollberg (Drep de Kristne)

I hope not, cause metal is a vague term covering all the metalgenres. This sounds pretty clear but when you know some of those metalgenres are as different to eachother as punk and R 'n B it gets obvious that expressing an opinion about such a broad abstract term is either extremely generalized or extremely closeminded.
