  1. It didn't get revived. This whole board is stale. No one wants to discuss anything interesting.

It was merely continuing from the last days of 2019. And I think you agree that as long as a lot of people don't seem to get why this exactly is perceived as an attempt to provoke more so than a legit attempt to simply share a joke, it's worthy to point out why and how.

Partly true, but muddled thinking. There was a time--not in a galaxy far far away but in this one--that the Democrats were largely a southern party run by white bigots, and the Republicans were "The party of Lincoln". That was from the Civil War era to the Great Depression. The "Solid South" in those days was Democrat. Then things changed. The Republicans flubbed the Depression with their inflexible economic doctrines and social attitudes, and FDR was able to put together a winning New Deal coalition of strange bedfellows: Southern segregationists, blacks, ethnic minorities, and labor unions. Among these were such KKK leaders as Senator Hugo Black, who eventually became the longest serving member of the Supreme Court and a staunch defender of Civil Rights and racial integration; and Senator Robert Byrd, Grand Cyclops in the Klan, no less, one of the longest serving Senators in U.S. history and eventual opponent of major Civil Rights legislation, who eventually changed his mind, initiated the racial integration of the United States Capitol Police, supported Martin Luther King Day and won praise from the NAACP for being 100% in line with its legislative agenda in 2003-04. Lyndon B.Johnson's sponsorship of sweeping Civil Rights legislation in the 60s and Nixon's subsequent Southern Strategy caused the South to lead the Democrat fold and become solid Republican. What party affiliation are today's Klansmen. Judging from the MAGA hats, i'd say the core of the Republican Trumpian base. So vote Republican if you wish, but to do it because of antipathy to the Klan is foolish.

Let's go in 50/50 on a sailing yacht and sail to Australia or New Zeeland or some other place full of beautiful scantly covered women.

  7. Wouldn't do me any good. I'd make it weird. Couldn't get laid in a whore house.

Australia has more women than men. You should reconsider. There might be an abundance of Liberal people. We can learn to drive on the other side of the street like them? Think of all the possibilities?

    EDIT

Never mind...poster I quoted is clearly not living in reality, and there is no point engaging them in debate

I commend you on your correction but would add that you did make a number of other dubious historical claims and opinions that you might find would be corrected or modified if you did a little more research.

I mean are you still under the impression that - if we yankees didn't love our arms so much that we also taught our kids and grandkids how to use and respect them, we would likely all be speaking german. That's not a historical fact either; just a high statistical probability.

I think 2020 got off to a bad start even before the calendar ticked off a day – but as to why the ‘stale joke’ is still relevant well because the attitudes that produced it have not gone away, if anything in some sections of society they are on the rise as are racial and religious hate crimes around the world.

My reply: I know of no Trump supporter that favors the KKK. I am, however, familiar with some RINOs who betrayed everything they promised as members of the republican party. I'm also familiar with a load of democrats who either directly support socialist and KKK agendas or those who do.

All that matters little. When voting, I look at the legislation the candidate voted for, or refused to vote for when making my decision. Our Constitution does not support political parties. They are, therefore, an abomination to it, and we were warned by our forefathers against their arising, and with good reason. One need only look at what's going on today to see the sad, corrupt fruit these factions have brought forth.

My reply: Of course I'm still under that impression. My dad was over there in Europe during that war. He lied about his age and they didn't catch up to him until about 6 months before his 17th birthday. His CO was really peaved about this. Later, he was back in the military and served in Korea. Through the years, I've heard much about what went on there from his first-hand accounts. Probably the most creepy was his description of what the German officers, who were "just doing their jobs", looked like while swinging from a rope. Our nation supplied a lot of arms during that war. That's not to say there were none supplied by other nations. I'm certain the soviets supplied a vast amount of arms also. Did your country supply any? Probably, but I've never heard of it. That may be due to propaganda, or it may be because your nation didn't supply any. Some say that with a gun in hand you're a citizen, while without one you're a subject. Citizens don't need a license or permit to exercise their rights, while subjects do.
