I agree and I hope we're right. I'd love to see what we can do with the world. I think once most of Generation X gains control, we'll see a lot of change for the better (I hope!). That's an awesome pic of Bob! He looks so happy! Jah Live!
I completely agree with this. I've also always felt that people with a "hippy" state of mind seem to be so real compared to the other parts of society. Instead of hey, let's go get our guns, camo hats and cowboy boots with the frat guys and go shoot some deer (keep in mind I live in TN) it's more about not running with the crowd, and just chillin with people you really care about, not who you're trying to impress. Also it's about inner beauty and the beauty of the earth. And MUSIC!!!
Instead of doing that, let's wear tiedye and smoke pot and say "that's so hip, man!" Oh yes, very real indeed.
Ive always tried to resist the force of society which seems to push us through life. Ive also found it quite silly how we waste our lives working and struggling for no real purpose but because "it's what you do". I'm glad that i found this online community with people whom i can relate to and share my views with. Peace =).
yeah...bush is fuckin us up the ass.... what would i do without this place? I've realized there are more and more hippies coming together and i feel a revolution coming on! I think its what this world needs..... i follow the hippy traditions/ideals because its what makes me happy. I feel so much love for everyone The music rocks too i dont do what i do to be "hip" or cool.... people make fun of me and thats not cool. i do what i do because its what i feel inside. im so glad i found others like me... im just a free spirit
Man, I'm just tired of all the war and hurting our earth. It's, like, so un-groovy. I read this one thing that said man was like the flower, but we have this destructive nature that the flower so does not have. I got into the hippie business because I was looking for a new scene, but now I like, realize that I've been a hippie all along, man!
lol. i dont know im just really into the anti war movement and the peace and love vibe. i like chillin with whoever i feel like and not caring if other people think there losers or whatever.
I chose my hippie lifestyle because it's who I am. I don't agree with alot of the goverment, I don't really fit in with the "crowd" nor do I care, I have immense love for earth and her creatures, the 60's were very cool, and every once and while I smoke pot but I try to stay away from hard stuff. I have a fraglie body. Anyways those are my reasons - peace
I'm into this because it's a lifestyle that makes me happy, life is an adventure this way, and the ideals with which hippies look at life make it so much more enjoyable, I can't imagine living any other way.
I love nature and art. I don't know alot of people who feel the same way I do about society and way of living. I'm trying to find peace.
its strange cause i dont really know how i came to be the hippie type kid i am now...it was more gradual then anything..i always loved animals and i have always wanted to do something to do with wildlife or the environment when i get older since i can remember. i wasent into music that much until i found the jam bands and the classic rock..i was never really into the pop music that much...as my knowledge grew about environment distruction, our government, how most clothing is made in sweat shops with horrible conditions, how the meat industrys kill the animals i realized this society is corrupt and we need ppl to strive to help end war, to protect human and animal rights..and to protect the enviroment...i guess because im passionate about these issues and care more about helping the ppl and environment around me more than makin a bunch of cash..i guess thats why ppl started callin me a hippie..peace and love
I guess you would call it ideals...I was raised this way. I want my kids to be raised this way! I'm passionate about raising them to be respectful, thoughtful, loving, open minded people. It just seems natural to incorporate those beliefs into being a careful consumer (wearing long lasting organic cotton clothing, eating chemical & additive free foods we grow ourselves, only using cloth bags when we shop...) and a whole bunch of things you guys already know...It's just the me I am best!
I stumbled into the rainbow peace hotel to get out of the rain, and spent summer "02 painting flowers and trees in the university of love and new thinking. Never looked back
