Why are docs so funny about prescribing medicine

    Oh, yea, exactly. As soon as you start to feel good, it sets off an alarm in the doc's head that something really IS wrong. I know that in Texas, the state narcotics division comes down hard on doctors that refill controlled drugs over the phone-it requires the patients to come back in for an office visit to get a refill. There are also loads of DEA agents going in and posing as patients, pretending to have medical problems, and then yanking the doctor's license and slapping them with a big fine because they say that the prescription is inappropriate. Doctors around here are scared to death to prescribe any kind of controlled drug for fear of what the sick-ass government is gonna do next. I have a spinal problem that causes me chronic pain and a lot of times it's a big hassle to just get one prescription for a pain-killer or muscle relaxant because of the fear that the doctors have of what the government's gonna do to them. Screw the government.
