I posted one. It got buried, though. I guess it's more of an opinion. Are you looking for an answer from Skip?
Some Christians just want to discuss their religion and learn what others think about it. In an open forum, this is difficult because some atheists, and others, are rude and insulting. .
I didn't go to Vietnam, but I had a friend who was stationed on a river boat; I think, on the Danang River. There was a lot of combat there, Viet Cong snipers and such. .
I was taught to believe. I am inherently devoted. My devotion was not returned. I repented and learned faith instead, and now the birds of the air make their nests in the shade of my own growth.
But don't all threads have their various forms of opposition and yet no other subject (or religion) on this website is offered special privilege governing that only certain people are allowed to post in it. Why is a christian sanctuary permitted while a white sanctuary or a heterosexual sanctuary would be considered at the least a bit odd and in my opinion more accurately outright xenophobic and hostile towards free inquiry?
Have you tried to start any of the forums you mention and been denied? Evidently, a group wanted this forum, somebody started it, and it seems to have a following. Have you looked around this place? There's a masturbation forum, a forum to discuss illegal drugs, an anal sex forum and if you can name it, you can probably find people talking about here. Some might call it free speech or free association. .
As I said before, no other forum prohibits others from posting in it based on religion sex or any other reason except the sanctuary.
Why would that be wrong as long as it's only a subforum as part of a larger forum where it could be discussed, much like you all are doing here, just outside the Sanctuary? No one is blocking discussion. You have no trouble discussing it here. Why bitch that there's one small corner of the forums dedicated to people seeking guidance and discussion that assume their beliefs are true? Otherwise they would have to begin every sentence with "assuming this is true" and you would still probably try to talk them out of it. Making it a concrete rule gives them the freedom to discuss what they believe within their belief. I don't see a thing wrong with that. If they want to argue about the existence of God, they will come here. Are you not getting enough chances to exercise your obviously superior intellect and reasoning skills?
