Alex Grey without a doubt is by far my favorite. Larry Carlson is a definite close second In my honest opinion.

Mmmm...Kandinsky. I've spent hours drooling over some of his stuff.

I don't know who my favourite artist is, it's such a huge subject. Dali was the most amusing character I think, I saw a video of this ceremonial thing he did where he stood at an altar and a tribal looking guy danced up to him and presented him with a crumpled piece of tin foil, which he then pinched into a perfect male visage. I've got a thing for showmen and weirdos, and he was both. Caravaggio was an interesting guy too, a scoundrel apparently, but his work was breathtaking. I love Picasso. Then there's the sculptors, musicians, puppeteers, comedians, special effects artists, film makers, sound technicians, thespians, dancers...eh, I can't pick.

Caravaggio's "The Cardsharps" shows a couple of dudes cheating at poker circa 1594.
