it's hard to pick a "greatest drummer" so i won't, i'll just list some that i believe are truely wonderful: John Bonham, Keith Moon, ginger baker, charlie watts, and levon helm. oh and i don't know what his name is... but whoever the drummer is thats touring with alice cooper right now is fucking amazing, i saw them a couple weeks ago and the drum solo (and basically the whole show) blew me away. if anybody knows what the dude's name is i'd love to know.

John Bohnam has a grace and sound that is unparalleled and I am really hyped up about him cause "In the evening" just came on the radio. He can be loud as hell and still have the nimbleness of a cat. thats right. a cat.
There are so many good tracks. wow. hes good.

The best drummer as far as what? Technical skill? I know plenty of drummers right here in Raleigh that can play anything that Bonham or Moon did (Anyone in the southeast US ever see Zoso play out live?). I'd have to go with Billy Cobham (mahavishnu orchestra) myself, anyone that naturally flirts in 21/22 time signatures, for example, is a fuckin madman. It's a toss up between him, Terry Bozio, Buddy Rich and probably a billion other jazz drummers I've never heard play

I don't think he's necessarily the BEST, but John Bonham becuase he's just so damn cool. Led Zeppelin rule the world.

 

My two favorite drummers are Lars from Metallica, and Neal Perit I think he is from the Cure or Crush...it starts with a c I know that much
