just wanted to state that fish aren't vegetables. Everyone is on their own journey and I respect anyone that even reduces their animal consumption. Every little bit helps. But circles aren't squares, red isn't green, fish aren't vegetables. I don't want to discourage anyone who is half or almost vegetarian. Reducing animal eating is more than most people will ever do. I just hear about fish or chicken eating "vegetarians" and it is not what a vegetarian is. And organic meat still had a mom. vegan.
I'm vegetarian and I hate it when people say stupid things like "I won't eat lamb because it's a baby animal". You can just imagine the grown up sheep thinking "Well excuse me if I wasn't a baby at the time of my slaughtering". What also annoys me is what Pamela explained above. If you eat meat, your not vegetarian.
Oh and something else. Those in Australia will have probably heard of NAIDOC week which is in general, a great week. At the school I go to there was a barbeque where some of the locals cooked kangaroo meat. And soemone was going off at everyone who ate the meat saying "How can you eat it? It's an Australian animal. Yada yada yada." Now I will admit, just before I was vegetarian I did try kangaroo meat. And if other people want to eat that's there choice. But what about if you lived in England (I'm guessing that's where some cows did originate from). That doesn't stop some English people eating them....Sorry, I'm venting...Don't hate me!
Yeah, people are stupid. My cousin told me yesterday "Yeah, I'm a vegan too! Except I had eggs today because it's a holiday.- and I eat fish sometimes." Ok, not only is that not vegan, that's not even vegetarian. It's great that she's making an effort, but she just sounded really stupid.
