grits are like cream of wheat. do you what that is? most people in the south eat with butter/salt/pepper. i like mine with brown sugar though.

I tried grits once when traveling from Ontario, Canada down to Florida. EW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have on idea how people eat that stuff. I tried it over 15 years ago and I can still taste the yuckness in my mouth. lol

And bacon is even worse than grits. I was vegetarian for 7 years and although I eat almost all meat products again... I cannot for the life of me eat bacon. Sometimse I will stomach the alternates to pork... but ew..... And the smell. THE SMELL!!! YUCK!

Savoury means foods that aren't sweet tasting. Bacon is a savoury food here I can't imagine putting syrup on it. It is best left between two slices of bread and brown sauce *Drools*

Broon sauce tastes a bit like balsamic vinegar IMHO, but it's far more iconoclast to say the reverse is true.

One of my brothers comments on returning from new york was that Americans don't have nearly as great a distinction between sweet and savoury as they do here.

sweet and savoury? I always thought savory meant delicuous [damn spell check]. Strange Euro's...=]
Grits is like cream of wheat right? I looove cream of wheat. Ive never had actual grits though...just the name sounds ick.
Ive been vegan now for 5 months maybe? I almost caved this morn at the co-op they had the most yummy smelling breakfast burritos with potatoes, tofu, bell peppers and cheese. Eeeeeek. I didnt though. I wound up getting a bagel and hummus. Yum. But damn I do miss cheese sometimes. Soy cheese just aint the same. =[
