it wasn't satan because satan doesn't exist. but the first sin wasn't sex, nor learning what causes benefit and harm. the first sin was trashing the paradise were were given. and we weren't expelled from it, we trashed the place ourselves. and its still up to us to stop doing so. and learning what causes benefit and harm isn't a sin. telling people not to, and preventing them from doing so, that is the ultimate "sin".
Because, as Job 2;3 has God complaining, ----Satan moves him to destroy without cause. IOW Satan and evil control God and he admits it. Christians still adore him though. So they say. Their self-serving salvation they buy by selling their morals and souls to Satan. When they do, they become his. Not that he is real though. They retain poor morals for a myth. Regards DL
I agree and that is exactly what God did and what the church did in the dark ages. Ever listen to the first words to this tune. They speak to your theme. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pYBQg4qifU"]The Rolling Stones - Rock And A Hard Place - OFFICIAL PROMO - YouTube Regards DL
Sin is acting on an evil desire. Satan provided the desire and Man (adam/eve) acted on it. The root of all evil is love of Mammon/money, because it can substitute for God. Instead of God providing food through his creation, man began to till the soil and produce mammon/food for him/herself. Creation/Garden was then seen by humans not as something good, but as something that was in the way. Now as the drumbeat of growth continues the ultimate goal for humans seems to be to consume everything. Is it just me or is this a little nuts?
Evil desire is the illusion of lack, a fearful thought. Temptation is the desire to have illusion be real, to think good nature is earned.
Sorry, I was half asleep and already upset over something else when I wrote that post and was focusing more on the content than anything You're right, Anax is a very interesting, complex character, and I was wrong to go ahead pigeonholing because there aren't really pigeonholes in the first place, as everyone is unique
If you don't believe in a literal interpretation of the story, then why do all your "arguments" rely strictly on a literal interpretation??? I've tried to point that out to you a few times, yet you are so enamored with your own convoluted logic, it has obviously gone over your head. Not to mention that in order for your particular take on things to be remotely feasible, you force God into such a constrained anthropomorphic representation that it genuinely calls into question your entire premise and your grasp of the concept of "God".
Not at all. I just point out that a literal reading of scriptures lead to a God who is quite the prick. Literalists call that prick good and that means, in a literal reading of the bible, that they are going to hell. We have to save them. Right? They are not too bright but we still :love: them all. Regards DL
Yep, Eve saw the apple and how much she could gain from it. Because of this she started to see herself as lacking even though in reality she was already perfect or "very good". Good nature simply is. Why would we have a desire to live in illusion?
Exactly which is why I say temptation is the desire to have illusion be real. I say this because temptation is not to be confused with the desire to usurp the will of god. Temptation is the inclination to suggest and react to the suggestion that the world is not as god created it. From this state it is impossible to learn of god in the world because we insist his evidence is not there to be found.
The heart is a muscle. Identification is a province of mind. Where our treasure lies there be our heart also, our treasure being those things we find worthy, right, or valuable. The heart can't make choices but it does give quick pace to our dreams.
Thread TL;DR "sin" is an old greek term which actually means "to miss the mark" therefore God ws the first as proven by the fact he created everything and actually regretting it - thus proving he had made a mistake or "missed his mark" not that I believe anything in that book actually happened.
Yes, but not as many Christians adopt a total literal translation as would you imply, so logically your argument is flawed by the numerous assumptions one is forced to accept in order to make your particular Gnostic view "work". Then considering that Hip Forums most certainly contains few people who take the Bible completely literally begs the question.... What the fuck you wasting your time here for???? Why not target an audience that may actually gain from your wonderful insights and revelations. Shouldn't you really be espousing these ideas on a fundamentalist Christian forum, the intended recipients of this vital eye-opening message you have? I'm just trying to understand your motivation and logic behind bringing your message here rather than to those who truly need to hear it.
NCWE*; to be considered To say a thing is true and then say you don't believe in it's accuracy is self contradictory. *not considered well enough
