While I know you're joking, there is actually a historical truth behind your sarcastic statement. However most people no longer treat their dogs as working animals the way that they used to. It doesn't really matter though because nowadays, anyone who would leave their small children alone with their dogs (regardless of breed) shouldn't have kids or dogs.

by the way. the pitbull I take care of and all of the other ones I have taken care of and been around.. would not attack a child. and to ensure this, you socialize properly and don't leave unattended. even though I trust that I could in my situation.

I don't really understand what type of question this is, but it reminds me of something I should clear up. I assume by this you believe I think every dog can be socialized to a level that makes it safe around all humans. there are some dogs who are nasty and intolerant of human gestures and behaviors that are considered normal to us. this goes for every breed. but I can say from personal experience as someone who has been around a lot of dogs, I have only been around 1 unpredictable, potentially human aggressive pitbull..but countless other breeds.

so what I am arguing is your inaccurate and misled condemnation of not only an entire breed of dog, but an entire type of dog that has certain physical characteristics.

people like you need to get some real experience in and exposure to issues like these before having such firm beliefs
