I have a feeling we were raised along similar lines. The memories I have of childhood were good ones and I feel fortunate to have those. Thank you and welcome back!!
i remember them from long before murdoc bought fox, or there even was a fox network on television. back when we didn't even have the integrated circuit chips our computers are based on. when moves were on photographic film, and tv was black and white. my mom loved to watch old movies on tv. this was back in the 1950s and 60s. so yah, i remember having watched ma and pa kettle movies in black and white on the old sears silvertone 'table model' tv that inveriable sat in its little shrine in the corner of the living room. where we would all, mom and dad and me, sit at the big metal folding table, purchased with trading stamps, while eating our tv dinners (cooked in the conventional oven, because micro-waves had not yet become common household items of ordinary people, most of whom had yet to even hear of the concept) or one of her boiled to death stews, or occasional spagetti and meat balls (one of the few things to eat she didn't completely murder). i couldn't tell you the plot of even one of them though. they were among more 'mostly harmless' things, but not among the more memorable. compared to the crap that's on there today, i rather suspect i would welcome them back.
