Wanna know who is also good, but no one really gives her credit?-Melanie. She is really good. I wish I would have seen her at Woodstock,...damn age!!! Even my absolute favorite female singer, Janis Joplin, did covers of her songs!

My favourite female singer is Grace Slick from the Airplane, or Siouxsie Souix, or Suzi Quatro or Debbie Harry.

Not read the whole thread but PJ Harvey has got to be right up there surely, if not as a singer as a female artist, she's been very influential to a lotta people over the years

what a shit reason!! After all. she is a rock chick, a bit of craziness comes as standard. Maybe you could just listen to a cd of her r ather than watching her vids, although some of her recent live festival stuff jas been good and she was excellent on Jools holland recently too!! Let the hair thing go, forgive and move on!! lol

I think it's Bebel Gilberto at the moment - I'm quite fickle when it comes to singers though.

Good point man, not into her racist rants of old but it wwould appear she is a reformed character and her recent-ish live album is superb, raw but awesome.

'Mystery of Iniquity' has phenomonal lyrics and structure and is delivered in a way on she knows how.
