Who is your favorite black actor?

This may be a typical girl answer but I really like Johnny Depp. Sure, hes hot as hell but he can ACT. I also love al pacino, jim carrey, etc.

 

DENZEL is the man

 

Sidney Poitier.--As far as people like Denzel and Will etc. they don't even come close to the brilliant talent of Sidney Poitier.And Sidney made some 'real' great movies,like "The Defiant Ones"--"In The Heat of The Night" and thats just 2.

 

I'd also like to add Louis Gossett Jr.--Great in every role he played,most of his best work was done on television shows.He's another guy that is so much better than the likes of Denzel, Sam JacKson etc.--Sam,Denzel and company are 'high school play amateurs' when compared to Louis Gossett and Sidney Poitier.

i simply cant choose between Will Smith and Morgan Freeman, so I wouldnt.

 

Sidney Poitier. An excellent actor... 'A Patch of Blue' and 'Guess Who's Coming to Dinner' are some of my favorite classic films of all time.

 

Denzel Washington.

He's probably been mentioned a lot in this thread, but he's proven in films (especially 'Training Day' and 'Malcolm X') that he has such range and talent.

 

Morgan Freeman - and not just my favorite BLACK actor, my favorite actor.

If someone asked who the 'worst' or one of the worst black actors is I'd probably say Denzel Washington .--I must disagree about him having range or talent,he does not.--Him being in a movie is enough reason for me to stay away from viewing that movie.--I do not want to single him out though,because he is a 'symbol' of the poor quality of SO many contemporary actors(and I do not like to use word 'actor' when talking about most of the people in contemporary films) of ALL backgrounds,black,white,polka dot.----It really does not seem to take much to be called an actor ,or for that matter be in movies these days.

Washington's performance in this move is nothing less than great.

 

Nothing in that movie was great. Especially not Washington's performance.
