How could I forget Neil Young?!?! And I always loved Slash - too bad he got stuck with that Axel Rose piece of shit. Of course, there's Velvet Revolver.

But Clapton? Yeah, back in the day - now he's a little too mellow for me. I lost interest when he started "walking Sally through the alley".

Going through the thread Page & Hendrix are continuouly being mentioned.

    Clapton can't be far behind.
I would say serious money would go on those three.
If Hendrix was still here I'd say we put all three in a Boxing ring & let them all bash it out of each other to find the outright winner!!.:)

Hendrix. A shame he died so young, if you think about all he could have done if he had lived longer... ah well, that's the way things go sometimes. For now, it only adds to his legend-status.

Well, the answer is simple, Joe Walsh. Followed closely by Duane Eddy. Anyone you wish really, just as long as it aint the overrated hack Hendrix. That noisy attempt at guitar playing makes my ears bleed.

Good point, I can't believe no mentioned Alvin Lee yet! Django Reinhardt also. Imagine him playing in the days of feedback and wah-wah. When you consider his hand injury, he is the best guitar player, survival of the fittest and all that jazz.

Edit- Forget Django, I just noticed the title :p

    Love Zappa.

But Jeff Beck treated me to the next to worse concert I ever saw when he was touring with Yan Haummer (sp).

And Dickie Betts?, what about the great Duane Allman?

Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young, and (he may not be your cup of tea but his guitar playing has always left me in awe) Dimebag Darrell (RIP)

Well, I already said David Gilmour and Jimi Hendrix, but I also wanna put Richie Sambora down as one of the best and most underrated.
