i got to Northeastern University in Botson, MA and i'm double majoring in electrical and computer engineering...thinking about doing a minor in physics or math if i have enough electives
I plan on getting into automotive mechanics. I'm taking my first year of introduction to auto mechanics right now in high school. And I am also planning on taking advanced auto mechanics next year which will take up 2 of my 4 electives but its something i really want to do.
Im going to try and get into psychology, or advanced science>master in neuroscience. except i need pretty good marks.. over 90 UAI for advanced science (which means, top 10% of finnishing candidates) and 95 for psychology. if i dont get the marks ill probably do science and then transfer later into the course when i can show them my worth ive got big shoes to fill.. my step brother got UAI 99.8 (top 0.2% of the state), then proceded to get university medal (one given in each course) in science+engineering, and now has gone to Cambridge to do a phd in quantum computing i want to hopefully continue for a phd in something like curing schizophrenia, but i really cant say at this point
no its not that, university of illinois actually has a very good engineering program...or so i've heard. i just dont think its a good idea to start college somewhere and then transfer to another school in the middle of your college career. of course this is just my opinion.
4-year US Marine Corps, then head to Michigan State for a major in Buisiness Managment and a minor in computer hardware sciences and application... my plans are to start a company similar to Alienware Electronics, (building custom computers and appliances fit for entertainment & gaming).
well its not exactly anythin like school weve all been going to. if you left between stages, you wouldnt be missing out on anything from either stage, it would just be like getting new lecturers (as you would normally) and different (assumedly better) facilities, which are very important in engineering, perhaps unlike various humanities subjects where the learning environment and teaching faculty are things that one might connect with a bit more.
well i'm not planning to go to college b/c i'm already in one. But my major is in computer information systems/information technology
thats not my reason...it has to do with being social, not that im little miss sociable or anything but i think its important to communicate and have friends and when people start college most of them are nervous because they dont know anyone and then they all get to know eachother together....then later on they've already established strong friendships. but this may not be the case for everyone..if he really wants that i say go for it. im planning on going to northern illinois.
i think that comes down to personal sociability. personally, i dont intend to get along with most people, but i always know theres someone to relate to. but i cant see it taking more than a month to develop friends, myself
uh my brother is going for a masters at university of illinois right now, for computer engineering.. hes in his 3rd year he transfered from eastern, so hes only been there since the begining of this semester but he says the engineering campus is really huge, and he ahsnt mentioned anything about the staff, except they got good professors.
yo, ill always be in state of illiuois for the colleeg transfer, so ill still be in contact w/ friends.. and my grades arnt good enough to go to university of illinois, its top 3 in country for engineering, so my bro couldnt make it tahts why he had to transfer after 2 years, even though he got straight eyes both years, he thought he might need to take another semester at eastern. thats how hard U of I is to get into.
well, i'm a junior at norwich univerisity, majoring in economics. probably will go back to school to get either a sports medicine degree or physical education degree...i don't know...
There's nothing wrong with transfering colleges... Anyway, I've decided to save up...I have 2 bank accounts, I make about 150 dollars a week at publix (Grocery store, whomever said they were looking for a company that gives quality, and doesn't worry so much about money...if Publix ever opens an auto shop, haul ass towards it...it's all about customer service) 50 goes to Bank account "A" and 50 to Bank account "B"...A is for my trip to Vancouver this summer, which I'll stop saving for when I hit 1,500...and then the other is for what this is all about: I'm going to take a year off after high school, see whatever I can see...travel to Europe, get a taste for the world...maybe bring a friend if another person decides to take the year off...or even travel on my own and meet new people...figure out what about life interests me...I was thinking of majoring in history and becoming a high school teacher...I don't mind the low pay, I have other ways of making money on the side, and no I do not mean weed. I build computers for a lot of people (Similar to the guy who wanted to open a rival to Alienware...and if you do, allow overclocking and BIOS tweaking on yours...)...and I'll end up returning to Florida for college...simply because I have a 4.1 and meet all the qualifications for Florida Bright Futures Scholarship (everyone that meets the requirements can get either full, 75% or 75% with no bonus money, no matter what) so I'd get 100& scholarship and some $$ for whatever other expenses...AND all the money that we have in the Florida Prepaid College system would come back to me at their expense (Meaning I'd also get about 30,000 dollars for putting in about 5,000 over the course of 5 years because the way the program works) so that'd go to a down payment on a condo or something... Anyway a lot of people have told me that my future is going to be fucked due to my plans of taking a year off and seeing the world...but hey, that's what I'm interested in, and no matter what I end up like, I'll do it with a smile...I'd rather be homeless with a sense of humor than a 40 year old stiff working 18 hours a day.
I'm a freshman at Central Washington University right now, and am going to major in education, then do the library media graduate program and be a school librarian! I promise, I won't suck like the rest of them seem to. Only problem is that this school is... off. I don't fit in very well with all the cowboys and empty-headed girls. I'd almost rather be at Evergreen, but I don't know what sort of programs they have that would help me towards librarian-ness. Eh. I'll check it out. ~Nova
lol what is their reasoning for your life being fucked? i can only think of the money needed to do all that travel. i wanted to take a year off caus i didnt know what i could do that would interest me enough to take a whole uni course for, caus i dont see uni as a means to get a job, but for something that I can then further myself. then i descovered psychology over teh past year, and it was like there was something in me the whole time that was just yearning for this to come along so now all i wanna do is go straight to uni, learn it all, and then be able to debunk it but i had a plan to take a year off for a while, maybe do some media training to get projects of mine off the ground. the only problem i found was money - where would I get enough? just jobs around the place? I know how much i spend on drugs lol so i had to take that into consideration. so yeh, you sure you can save for a trip to vancouver and also to other countries on just 150 a week? i wouldnt bother with all that saving myself, i hate having to save up but yeh have you really got that budgeted? caus thats pretty good budgetting i recon
