There's a lot of really good answers in this thread. God to me is also just all consciousness. I think we're all connected by spirit.
Except maybe if you're being eaten by sharks. Where are all the feel-gooders and true believers then? For what it's worth the situation of one animal being eaten alive by another is not rare or unusual. It has been a basic theme of nature for at least 500 million years. Fear, loathing, death in agony... thanks a lot Ms. God.
sometimes things get complicated god to me has always been this guiding force in the back of my mind that i am well aware of. but i feel that is my mind recognizing my own being at times which make me feel that i am my own god but then i wonder why i feel guided ?
And can he lie as well? My cherished restrictions? Restrictions of your freedom? So you feel that eliminating crime and violence, war and famine, pestilence and genocide, rape and child abuse, would restrict your freedom. An interesting view of freedom you have. So? Perhaps you are fooling yourself? Endeavors? Their religious "EXPERIENCES" are not their endeavors, they were gifts given them by God, which taken as a whole are God's message to mankind. Okay
Actually a human being eaten by sharks is a relatively rare occurrence, on a par with being struck by lightening.
Where I live your chance of either is greater than most places on the planet. (Topped of course by being killed or maimed by a sociopathic hit-and-run driver.)
Your odds to be victim or a shark attack is 1 in 8 million. Did you know that your odds of dying from a fall down the stairs are 1 in 200,000 which is lower than the odds of being a victim from a shark attack? Also, your odds of dying from a wasp, bee or hornet sting are 1 in 5.9 million which is higher than being attacked by a shark. Your odds of dying from a lightning strike are 1 in 4.3 million which again is higher than being attacked by a shark. Your odds of drowning in your bathtub are 1 in 800.000 which is once more lower that being victim of a shark attack. Other higher odds are: dying from an adverse reaction to antibiotics with the odds being 1 in 7 million, being killed by a falling object has odds of 1 in 400,000, being killed by an agricultural machine has odds of 1 in 500,000 and being killed in a motor vehicle accident has odds of 1 in 6,000.
^^^I wonder what the odds are for people that actually swim in the ocean on a regular basis are though. Those stastics taken for everyone even though most are never in the ocean.
All very interesting facts but what does that have to do with my comment alluding to the fact that the highest death rates from lightning in the United States are in Florida, which is known as the lightning capital of the country and that Florida has one-third of the shark attacks in THE WORLD?
Actually 1 in 200,000 is a much higher frequency of occurrence, than 1 in 8 million. One in 800,000 is a higher rate of incidence than 1 in 8 million.
No, I'm am not confused. If you want to argue about, it go talk to the people of this web site: http://ezinearticles.com/?What-Are-The-Odds-Of-Dying-Of-A-Shark-Attack&id=401812
Shrug, your facts may be correct, your manner of stating them is typographically incorrect. I think most people know what you meant though. When the second number, effectively the denominator, is lower, the odds are referred to as being higher. You stated it this way for some things but said lower for others. No biggie.
Higher odds= higher incidence. Lower odds= lower incidence. In this case it is higher odds, because of the lower denominator. Hence it is higher incidence. Look at it this way, which is the higher, or bigger, number? 1/8,000,000 or 1/800,000? The second one. This is pure semantic nitpicking tho.
Agreed, I knew what he meant. However, if he himself could see the disparity, his communications would improve in general.
As I said they are not my statements, I merely quoted them as is and if you wish to argue with them, take it up with this site: http://ezinearticles.com/?What-Are-T...tack&id=401812
