i use a different alias on hipforums than i do elsewhere on the web, so that friends and family who search for my name or my common alias most likely won't find me here.
used the same one for that, i've posted all of that shit here anyway so it didn't really matter. i guess i should have been more clear and stated that i use the alias 'eggsprog' for sites that nobody from my real like knows about or would be able to connect to my usual usernames.
lol.. i just said that because i did a google search yesterday to see what the heck an "eggsprog" was ..
i'm sure it's possible, but it probably involves a bit of hacking. which i would assume is not done by most HR departments. or, obviously it's possible if you're just stupid about it. like using your real name for a username, or liking the hipforums facebook page while not having your facebook account set to private.
I asked my HR for a record of my future rota - April and May - and they sent me my employment start date. A HR department hacking into a forum? That takes brains, doesn't it?
well yes but theres like a website dedicated to my name lol thats gives tips and stuff. My last name is very uncommon in the states and ive never met anybody with the same last name here.
when i google my real name it shows up as some american cop...and another guy with same name is plastered everywhere because he's on city council of some town and they publish all their documents online
there's a bunch of people with my name, all more prominent than me. i share a name with several successful college athletes. although not too successful apparently, since none of them seemed to have made it to the pros. also a doctor and a preacher. but my favorite was the guy who was one of over a million people to sign an online petition that tarah taggart is a homewrecking whore.
When I google my surname I have a castle in Germany named after it and I think I should march straight up in there and demand a section of my own!
No, it's just plain ignorance and laziness that causes ppl to use the same handle on every site they go to. As far as pix goes, everyone should know that Google can now find any duplicate images ppl post on the net. So if you post up a pix of your dog here and on Facebook, they'll both show up if you search for duplicate images. I guess that is a good thing for those protecting their copyrights (but not for privacy!)
