First, anyone who claims never to have stolen something, even en tabula rasa is kidding themselves. Second, the original text of the ten commandments as translated from the Dead Sea Scrolls via the Rosetta Stone read, "Thou Shalt Not Murder" not "kill" There is a distinct difference between killing and murder.

Its amazing how something thousands of years old , in another language is given so much importance in isolation.

If I was thinking of the 10 most important things in the world , alot of those wouldnt be on my list.

i have always been a fan of the history of the world part one where mel brookes playing moses comes out "god has given me twenty command" drops half of them and breaks them "ten god has given me ten commandments"

lol being a Christian is admitting that you are a sinner, asking for forgiveness and turning away from past sins.

 

dude, i'm not even christian and know that's not true. being christian means you believe that jesus, a carpenter, was the son of god and god and your one and only savior. oh and he died for all of the sins you didn't know about, including your ancestors eating an apple of knowledge (but now i'm getting into the old testament), so that you could stop making brutal blood sacrifices to appease him. so be ashamed and accept this carpenter into your heart or you're goin to HELL!!!!

 

What I said was not in contradiction with what you said. Jesus did die for our sins, but in order to accept that you have to be aware that you are a sinner in the first place. Of couse that happened due to man's fall in the Garden of Eden, which people used to symboliclly atone with the blood of animals, but can now do so through Christ.

 

I have probably committed all these sins in my life.

What I am so interested about is why so many of the people in this thread are so proud of their wrongdoings? Why are you proud that you've killed, lied, cheated? I am personally not proud at all of the bad that I have caused.
