i don't think either are worse. i've experienced both. but the first might be more painful to deal with, because you learn to trust a person and believe they understand you when they don't.

 

i'm not a dick to people i talk to a lot... or even strangers unless they irk me in some way. which, to be fair, is pretty easy to do.
