Well, I personally wear flip-flops ALL the time. I wear them thin in no time. I go through like a zillion pairs every two months. This is only because I don't have the courage to go barefoot. It's just too much of a hassle getting into stores. Half the time I take my shoes off in school though and carry them around. Plus, I do a lot of walking, and believe me, broken beer bottles are NO FUN. I'd love to be brave enough to be a barefoot hippie though
LMAO. Piercing rings around the asshole... I don't think that'll be happening anytime soon, but I guess some people would prefer that to going barefoot in public, considering I've been pointed and laughed at by one of my peers and rudely inquired by some little twerp in 4th or 3rd grade. Brainwashing starts early, eh? I've noticed that since I've started school, I've worn flip-flops every day but one, but it's mostly girls who wear them. What's the deal? Guys all wear Vans or tennis shoes. I wore the latter one day this year because I suspected we'd march in band (we didn't, and I ended up wearing flops the day we did <_<) and it sucked! My feet were so hot, sweaty, and cramped by the end of the day, I just couldn't wait to get them off. My outer toes actually hurt a little bit. I don't understand how I used to wear them every day. It just seems impossible now. The only time I wear tennis shoes is for tennis. Seems pretty reasonable, right?
*Raises hand* I'm a barefoot hippie! I'm just not terribly hardcore. I carry a pair of flips with me and venture out barefoot as often as I can, but I don't do "extreme barefooting". Stepping into dirt is one thing, but getting glass in your foot is not so very zesty.
